What you'll do

• Provide expert legal advice on a variety of commercial agreements and corporate transactions to facilitate business operations.
• Take the lead in drafting, negotiating, and finalizing a range of commercial contracts and complex business arrangements.
• Collaborate closely with various departments, including revenue, marketing, human resources, finance, engineering, and product development, to offer legal insights and support.
• Play a significant role in the establishment and enhancement of the legal department, contributing to its strategic direction and operational efficiency.
• Assist in the preparations necessary for transitioning to a public company, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
• Help organize and coordinate board meetings and committee sessions, ensuring all legal documentation is in order.
• Oversee the global corporate administration, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while managing both domestic and international entities.
• Support executive compensation and stock administration processes, ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact the company, providing proactive legal advice to mitigate risks.
• Foster a culture of legal compliance and ethical business practices throughout the organization.
• Engage in training and development initiatives to enhance the legal knowledge of other teams within the company.
• Participate in strategic planning discussions to align legal strategies with business goals.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and active membership in a state bar association.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working at a reputable law firm, with a preference for candidates who have in-house legal experience.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to work, with a commitment to exceeding expectations and striving for continuous improvement in all areas.
• Enthusiasm for working collaboratively across different functions and a willingness to take on new challenges and projects.

• Familiarity with technology and software development processes, particularly as they relate to legal considerations.

Practical notes

Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
