About the role
As an AP/AR Specialist at Expedock, you will play a pivotal role in managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within our freight and logistics operations. Key facts
What you'll do
- Process and verify invoices from vendors and service providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including invoicing clients, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Reconcile discrepancies in accounts payable and receivable, collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, ensuring that documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Prepare monthly financial reports related to accounts payable and receivable, providing insights into cash flow and outstanding liabilities.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and submitted on time.
- Develop and implement efficient processes for managing accounts payable and receivable, identifying areas for improvement.
- Liaise with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely processing of payments related to freight and shipping services.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounts payable and receivable management, applying this knowledge to enhance our processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable, preferably within the freight and logistics sector.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software used by Expedock, if known] is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
