What you'll do
Conduct consecutive in person and virtual interpretation via phone and video platforms with precision and neutrality.
Adapt communication style to meet the cultural and linguistic preferences of patients, customers, visitors, and providers.
Follow Propio Language Services protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with client expectations and industry best practices.
Uphold information confidentiality and interpreter ethics at all times, aligning with organizational policies and professional standards.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and any applicable regulatory requirements.
Establish and sustain positive, professional interactions with diverse stakeholders in high pressure environments.
Expand and refine vocabulary and subject matter expertise to effectively support medical, legal, and social service assignments.
Support seamless communication by preparing thoroughly for each assignment and anticipating potential challenges.
Document relevant interactions when required to ensure clarity and continuity of services.
Promote access and inclusion by reducing linguistic barriers for individuals with limited English proficiency.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve scheduling, scope of work, and quality related concerns.
Demonstrate reliability and punctuality to meet the demands of rotating schedules and last minute requests.
Engage in performance feedback processes to improve service delivery and professional development.
Advocate for the needs of the Deaf and hard of hearing community by facilitating equitable communication access.
Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age at the time of engagement.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent credential such as a GED.
Demonstrate intermediate level computer skills necessary for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
Maintain reliable transportation to reach on site locations efficiently and as scheduled.
Provide up to date documentation of vaccinations as required by location, federal and local regulations, and business policies, which may include but is not limited to TB, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TDAP, Seasonal Influenza, and COVID 19 immunizations.
Successfully pass a drug test and background check along with security screening procedures prior to assignment.
Sign a commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and strict adherence to HIPAA compliance.
Submit an updated resume written in English at the time of application.
Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment where cultural sensitivity and professionalism are essential.
