About the role
This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive training to all new and existing staff members in a healthcare setting. The hire will maintain current LPN or RN license status and ensure all training activities align with regulatory and organizational standards. They will facilitate structured learning environments that support diverse learning preferences and needs. The role requires consistent communication with supervisors regarding training completion and follow-up actions. The hire will evaluate learner comprehension and adjust instructional methods to improve retention and application. They will actively collaborate across departments to identify best practices and integrate feedback into training programs. This position contributes to maintaining high standards of care through education and certification compliance. The hire will support the development and execution of both classroom and digital training initiatives.

What you'll do
- Facilitate Level 1 Medication Aide, Medication Refresher and Medication Review training sessions for staff.
- Monitor completion of medication passes and communicate any gaps or concerns with supervisors.
- Facilitate all other Emmaus training courses as scheduled and based on organizational needs.
- Assess the learners' readiness for certification through structured evaluation methods.
- Measure training effectiveness using data-driven approaches and feedback mechanisms.
- Provide training that supports different learning styles to ensure inclusive instruction.
- Evaluate the learners' retention of the training material and provide individual support as needed.
- Collaborate cross functionally to share best practices and gather input on training improvements.
- Maintain accurate training records and assign employees to required training modules.
- Prepare and distribute monthly training schedules in coordination with management.
- Inform employees and supervisors when an employee's training lapses or is not in compliance.
- Participate in committees or workgroups for companywide initiatives or special projects.
- Gain and maintain subject matter expertise in E-learning platforms and methodologies.
- Utilize the Learning Management System to develop modules, run reports, and monitor progress.
Requirements
- Operate standard office equipment including but not limited to a laptop, cell phone, fax machine, printer, and copier.
- Appropriately and effectively assist individuals during crisis or emergency situations.
- Able to demonstrate duties for trainees in a clear and practical manner.
- Able to solve complex problems, prioritize tasks, and plan activities where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to develop and maintain a method of organization that supports being efficient and effective in daily workflows.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- HS diploma required as a minimum educational credential.
- Bachelor's degree in human services or healthcare preferred for this role.
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Missouri or hold a temporary permit from the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of one year working as a nurse is required before assuming training responsibilities.
- L1MA Instructors certification preferred to ensure compliance with medication training standards.
- Prior training or facilitation experience preferred to support effective instructional delivery.
- 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred for specialized care contexts.
- Practical knowledge of accreditation standards is preferred to align training with regulatory expectations.
- Experience developing and implementing education curriculum is preferred to support program growth.
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office 365 products, Relias LMS, QuickMar/electronic medication administration system, THERAP/electronic client record system, and time and attendance system preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to meet legal and regulatory employment requirements.
- Able to acquire and maintain instructor certification for Medication Administration training as required by the facility.
- Able to acquire and maintain instructor certifications for other training classes deemed necessary through regulatory agencies to remain compliant.
