What you'll do
Execute manual test cases to validate software features and confirm they meet expected behavioral requirements
Identify, document, and track software defects through the established issue tracking and reporting workflow
Collaborate closely with development teams to reproduce reported bugs and clarify functional requirements
Review detailed software specifications and user stories to derive meaningful and comprehensive test scenarios
Perform thorough regression testing on existing features to catch any unintended side effects
Verify that all bug fixes and new releases consistently meet quality standards before deployment
Actively participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback on the testability of new features
Create and maintain clear, concise test documentation for future reference, reuse, and team knowledge sharing
Communicate testing progress and results to project stakeholders on a regular and transparent basis
Explore edge cases and unexpected user interactions to uncover hidden defects that automated checks might miss
Coordinate with product managers and designers to understand feature intent and align testing priorities accordingly
Maintain a structured testing backlog and prioritize test activities based on release schedules and risk
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in manual software testing within a professional setting or organization over a meaningful and relevant period
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, disciplined approach to thorough quality assurance practices
Ability to work independently in a remote, full-time capacity with minimal supervision and self-direction
Familiarity with issue tracking and bug reporting workflows commonly used in professional software development
Effective written and verbal communication skills for productive cross-team collaboration and day-to-day coordination
Understanding of software development lifecycles and the important role of QA within those processes
Capacity to analyze requirements and translate them into clear, actionable, and well-defined testable conditions
Commitment to maintaining thorough, organized, and easily accessible test records and supporting documentation
Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and product domains as the team and products evolve
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to ask clarifying questions when requirements are incomplete
Nice to have
Exposure to agile or iterative development methodologies in a collaborative team environment is highly beneficial
Experience working with remote or distributed teams across multiple time zones is a plus
