Software Integration Lead - 5G CORE
Job description
Software Integration Lead - 5G CORE at Espace.
About the role
You will architect and own the end-to-end integration strategy that connects back-office business support systems with our 5G Core network over satellite and ground segments. You will define interface contracts, enforce standards, and act as the primary technical authority for all subscriber and business logic integrations. You will translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable integration patterns that work seamlessly across LEO space and terrestrial environments. You will lead the delivery of critical workflows such as SIM and eSIM provisioning, CRM synchronization, billing, charging, and device lifecycle management. You will partner closely with network, product, and operations teams to ensure reliability, security, and performance meet the highest standards. You will troubleshoot integration failures, drive root cause analysis, and implement monitoring that keeps the ecosystem observable and deterministic. You will mentor engineers on best practices for integration design and foster a culture of clarity and accountability. You will ensure that every integration touchpoint is documented, testable, and aligned with our mission to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure, and actionable.
Key facts
What you'll do
Architect and maintain the integration layer between E-Space 5G Core and external business support systems including subscriber databases, CRM, billing, charging, and device management platforms.
Define and evolve API and messaging contracts, data models, and error handling strategies that span satellite and ground network domains.
Lead the design of integration flows for SIM and eSIM provisioning, subscription lifecycle management, and over-the-air updates across hybrid topologies.
Collaborate with product and network teams to translate high-level requirements into detailed integration specifications and testable acceptance criteria.
Implement robust integration patterns that guarantee data consistency, idempotency, and resiliency across asynchronous and synchronous communication channels.
Own end-to-end validation of integrated solutions, including protocol verification, payload validation, and timing analysis across space and ground segments.
Develop and maintain integration test suites, mocks, and sandboxes that enable continuous verification of core network and business system interoperability.
Partner with security and compliance stakeholders to enforce authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging across all integration points.
Monitor integration health, drive alerting strategies, and lead incident response efforts with network and business systems teams.
Champion observability, logging, and tracing standards that provide clear visibility into transaction flows spanning satellite and terrestrial infrastructure.
Streamline release and deployment processes for integration changes, enabling safe and frequent updates with minimal service disruption.
Serve as the escalation owner for complex integration issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
Foster cross-functional collaboration, aligning engineering, operations, and support teams around a shared understanding of integration behavior.
Promote continuous improvement by capturing integration lessons learned, scaling successful patterns, and retiring obsolete interfaces.
Act as the technical product partner for business systems, ensuring that evolving commercial and operational needs are met with reliable and scalable integration solutions.
Requirements

Must have extensive experience integrating complex systems, with a strong background in telecommunications, satellite, or IoT domains.
Must have deep expertise in 5G core architecture, including subscription management, authentication, and session management concepts.
Must have hands-on experience with SIM and eSIM provisioning flows, HLR/HSS interactions, and subscriber lifecycle management in real networks.
Must be proficient in API design and implementation using REST, gRPC, and messaging protocols such as Kafka or AMQP.
Must have demonstrated ability to work in hybrid environments that combine satellite and ground network components, understanding latency, reliability, and routing implications.
Must have experience with business support systems such as CRM, billing, and charging platforms, and understand how they interface with network functions.
Must have strong scripting and programming skills in languages commonly used for integration work, such as Python, Go, or Java.
Must be comfortable operating in fast-paced, mission-critical environments where reliability, security, and uptime are non-negotiable.
Must have a track record of owning end-to-end integration delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving projects to completion.
Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearances as required by role and project needs.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
