About the role
You will take ownership of the electronics lab and drive the build, debugging, and maintenance of the electrical systems that power our test infrastructure and future offshore deployments. You will design and assemble high-quality wiring harnesses, wire PLC and power cabinets, and perform precision soldering and PCBA rework to a professional standard. Your strong opinions on how things should be built will be essential as you push the team toward higher quality and faster execution. This is a critical position where your craftsmanship, speed, and judgment directly impact our ability to execute hardware milestones on aggressive timelines. You will support bring-up and debugging of electrical systems alongside engineers while maintaining rigorous standards for reliability. You will select connectors, wire types, shielding, and routing strategies that are appropriate for harsh marine environments. You will implement best practices for grounding, EMI mitigation, and signal integrity to ensure robust operation. You will own the organization, tooling, standards, and capability expansion of the electronics lab.

What you'll do
- Build high-reliability wiring harnesses for test systems and subsea deployments with precise attention to durability and safety.
- Assemble, wire, and debug PLC cabinets and electrical control panels for test infrastructure to meet strict operational requirements.
- Perform precision soldering, PCBA rework, and board-level debugging using advanced techniques and meticulous inspection.
- Support bring-up and debugging of electrical systems alongside engineers to resolve issues and validate functionality quickly.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Select connectors, wire types, shielding, and routing strategies appropriate for harsh environments to maximize system reliability.
- Implement best practices for grounding, EMI mitigation, and signal integrity across all electronics builds and modifications.
- Maintain and enforce high standards for harnessing, labeling, documentation, and workmanship across the team and lab.
- Own the electronics lab including organization, cleanliness, inventory, and tool readiness to sustain a professional workspace.
- Identify gaps in capability and drive procurement of new tools, test equipment, and infrastructure to unblock critical work.
- Support rapid prototyping and test readiness under tight timelines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Document builds, issues, and fixes clearly for engineering and QA traceability to support audits and future work.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues across test systems and deployed hardware using systematic methods and data-driven analysis.
- Contribute to safe electrical practices across the lab and test environments to protect personnel and equipment.
- Continuously evaluate and improve lab processes to increase efficiency, repeatability, and scalability for future deployments.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to integrate electrical components into larger systems seamlessly.
- Ensure all work aligns with project specifications, regulatory considerations, and internal quality frameworks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician, electrical technician, or similar role with consistent performance.
- Demonstrated experience building and troubleshooting complex wiring harnesses and electrical systems in demanding settings.
- Strong soldering skills including fine-pitch work and PCBA rework performed to a high standard of reliability.
- Experience assembling and wiring control panels, PLC cabinets, or industrial electrical systems with strict compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately without constant supervision.
- Deep practical understanding of connectors, crimping, shielding, grounding, and cable management in real-world applications.
- Experience debugging electrical systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other lab equipment methodically and effectively.
- Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail in physical builds with a focus on durability and safety.
- Track record of maintaining a clean, organized, and high-functioning lab environment that supports efficient work.
- High ownership mindset and ability to operate independently with minimal supervision while meeting commitments.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, prototype-driven environment where designs evolve rapidly and priorities shift.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineers to align on goals and resolve technical challenges.
- Willingness to follow documented procedures while also improving practices based on observed outcomes and feedback.
- Commitment to learning new tools, techniques, and standards as the program scales and requirements change.
- Reliability and consistency in delivering results on schedule even when working on complex, multi-step tasks.

Nice to have
- Experience with subsea, marine, aerospace, or other harsh-environment systems that demand high reliability.
- Background as an electrician or experience with high-power electrical systems in industrial or marine contexts.
- Familiarity with industrial controls, sensors, and data acquisition systems used in testing and monitoring.
- Experience with EMI/EMC best practices and debugging to ensure signal integrity and compliance.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical fabrication to support electrical builds and system integration.
- Experience setting up and scaling electronics lab infrastructure from scratch including tool selection and workflow design.
- Familiarity with standards for labeling, documentation, and traceability in high-reliability systems to support audits and maintenance.
Practical notes
This role operates out of our Seattle, WA facility on a full-time engagement basis. Hours will align with standard working schedules to support collaboration with engineering teams during prototyping and testing phases. The position may involve travel related to deployment activities and lab coordination as project needs dictate. No immediate visa sponsorship is indicated at this time.
