VP Healthcare AI
Job description
About the role
You will own the design and end-to-end delivery of Eliza's healthcare AI solutions, establishing the operational rhythm for a new healthcare vertical from first concept through production deployment. You will translate complex healthcare workflows into safe, scalable, and commercially viable AI implementations that materially improve claims accuracy and decision velocity. This role requires you to act as both deep practitioner and strategic seller, shaping solutions alongside CFOs, revenue-cycle leaders, and clinical operators who depend on Epic and complex payer environments. You will continuously refine how Eliza delivers value, working closely with AI Product Managers and Forward Deployed Engineers to turn messy real-world constraints into clear, trusted narratives. You will manage the full engagement arc, balancing experimentation with rigorous risk management around clinical, compliance, and financial outcomes. You will build the foundation for Eliza's healthcare authority by demonstrating measurable results across multiple client engagements and cross-functional teams. You will ensure that every solution aligns with the realities of hospital operations while advancing the frontier of practical AI delivery in one of the most consequential industries.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define and launch the healthcare vertical practice by establishing playbooks, success metrics, and delivery standards that turn abstract AI potential into repeatable, production-grade solutions.
- Partner with Enterprise clients to reframe revenue cycle, claims, and denial workflows through an AI lens, scoping opportunities that balance innovation with operational reality and regulatory constraints.
- Translate dense clinical and payer processes into structured problem statements and solution architectures that non-technical stakeholders can understand, challenge, and trust.
- Lead discovery sessions with senior healthcare buyers, converting ambiguous pain into clearly defined engagements that align incentives, scope, and risk across multi-year relationships.
- Make fast, evidence-based decisions about which healthcare problems are suitable for immediate automation, which require deeper system integration, and which demand staged approaches to de-risk client adoption.
- Own end-to-end delivery of selected engagements, coordinating with AI Product Managers and Forward Deployed Engineers to ensure solutions meet agreed outcomes on schedule and within defined quality thresholds.
- Build and maintain a repeatable delivery framework for healthcare AI, including templates for workflow mapping, data readiness assessments, and validation checkpoints tied to clinical and financial KPIs.
- Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes by aligning clinical, compliance, finance, and IT perspectives, ensuring that proposed AI solutions respect real-world governance and interoperability constraints.
- Represent Eliza in client settings and internal strategy sessions, articulating how specific AI capabilities map to measurable reductions in cost, improvement in accuracy, and acceleration of decision velocity.
- Continuously synthesize field feedback into product and capability roadmaps, highlighting patterns that can be leveraged across the broader portfolio of AI services.
- Mentor junior team members on healthcare-specific nuances, helping elevate the entire practice's ability to communicate effectively with executives and operators.
- Track and communicate the business impact of delivered solutions, using structured outcome metrics that demonstrate value to both Eliza and its healthcare clients.
Requirements
- Bring 8+ years of experience working inside complex healthcare implementations for large clients, with at least two in a leadership role focused on revenue cycle, claims, or operational transformation.
- Demonstrate deep fluency in how hospitals and insurers actually operate, including real-world understanding of revenue cycle management (RCM), claims and denials, and the workflow layer where clinical, financial, and payer systems intersect.
- Show hands-on experience with Epic in production environments, with bonus credentials in Resolute HB/PB and/or Tapestry, while remaining open to equivalent depth in other major EHR or health-system platforms.
- Prove a track record of selling and shaping solutions with senior healthcare buyers, including CFOs, revenue-cycle leaders, and clinical executives, owning the commercial journey from first conversation through signed engagement.
- Exhibit strong practical judgment around AI use cases, clearly distinguishing between problems suitable for immediate automation, those requiring careful integration, and those where risk must be managed over a longer timeline.
- Operate comfortably in ambiguous, fast-moving healthcare environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining clarity about risks related to patient care, compliance, and data integrity.
- Communicate with precision and credibility to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts into narratives that clients can act on confidently.
- Hold U.S. work eligibility and be prepared to manage responsibilities primarily from within the United States, aligning with our remote-first operating model and any necessary in-person engagements.
Nice to have
- Certification or demonstrated expertise in Resolute HB/PB and Tapestry, or deep experience with equivalent Epic tools and configurations.
- Prior involvement in AI or advanced analytics initiatives within healthcare, where you have influenced product direction or operational change.
- Experience working with payer organizations or large integrated delivery networks, exposing you to multi-stakeholder decision dynamics and complex contracting environments.
- Familiarity with emerging regulatory and compliance considerations in healthcare AI, including transparency, bias, and documentation expectations in high-stakes settings.
