About the role
We are seeking a founding Partner AI Deployment Engineer to serve as the technical counterpart for our strategic partnership with OpenAI. This on-site position based in the United States involves developing industry-specific ChatGPT experiences, leading workshops with OpenAI teams and their clients, and demonstrating the transformative potential of AI solutions. You will work directly with business executives to uncover high-value opportunities, translating those insights into compelling technical demonstrations that foster trust and confidence in AI applications. This role requires a hands-on individual capable of navigating between technical development, executive conversations, and workshop facilitation. Success in this position means establishing Eliza as a trusted partner by connecting business priorities to credible technical solutions, ultimately creating valuable customer opportunities and expanding AI adoption across industries.

What you'll do
- Engage with business leaders to understand their strategic priorities and identify valuable applications of AI that align with their goals.
- Translate complex business problems into credible AI concepts and develop technical prototypes or demonstrations that showcase potential solutions.
- Help qualify opportunities by assessing fit and value, ensuring that projects are aligned with client needs and organizational goals.
- Build compelling plugins, prototypes, and demonstrations tailored to specific industries and customer requirements, utilizing ChatGPT and related AI tools.
- Demonstrate what organizations can achieve with AI by creating industry-specific ChatGPT experiences that highlight practical use cases.
- Lead workshops focused on AI enablement, AI Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and the art-of-the-possible, helping clients and internal teams understand how to deploy AI effectively.
- Partner with OpenAI teams to prepare for customer meetings, events, and large-scale programs, ensuring alignment and readiness.
- Develop reusable assets such as workshop templates, technical patterns, and playbooks that can be leveraged across multiple projects and clients.
- Transition successful prototypes and ideas into production by working closely with Eliza's AI Deployment Managers and Forward Deployed Engineers.
- Engage directly with clients during workshops, demonstrations, and technical discussions to build trust and demonstrate technical capabilities.
- Connect business needs to technical solutions by articulating the value and feasibility of AI applications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration between OpenAI teams and clients to accelerate AI adoption and ensure successful implementation.
- Travel as required for customer workshops, OpenAI events, and in-person programs to facilitate hands-on engagement and relationship building.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in AI, especially related to OpenAI's platform, to continuously improve demonstration quality and technical offerings.
- Contribute to the growth of Eliza's AI enablement capabilities by capturing lessons learned and best practices from engagements.
- Support the scaling of successful solutions by creating templates, patterns, and documentation that can be reused across projects.
- Act as a technical ambassador for Eliza, representing the company's expertise in AI deployment and client enablement efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions meet client expectations and organizational standards.
- Provide feedback to OpenAI on platform capabilities and features based on client interactions and demonstrations.
- Assist in developing new service offerings and technical approaches to expand Eliza's AI deployment capabilities.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team to stay ahead of AI industry trends.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience building AI applications, plugins, agents, or API integrations in a professional setting.
- Experience in a customer-facing engineering role, solutions architecture, or technical consulting, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Strong ability to establish credibility with business executives while working closely with engineering teams.
- Demonstrated product and commercial judgment, with an instinct for identifying high-impact opportunities that create value.
- Ability to operate independently, turning ambiguous ideas into tangible, working demonstrations.
- Willingness to travel as needed for customer workshops, OpenAI events, and in-person programs.
- Familiarity with the OpenAI platform, including ChatGPT apps, plugins, Assistants, or agent frameworks, is highly preferred.
- Experience creating workshop content, technical enablement programs, or large-scale demonstrations for diverse audiences.
- Strong technical skills in AI development, API integrations, and plugin creation.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
