EliseAI is on the lookout for a proactive and experienced leader to establish and expand our internal IT department as we continue to grow. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping our IT strategy and roadmap while overseeing daily operations to create a secure and efficient technological environment for our team. This position requires a unique blend of strategic planning and hands-on technical execution to effectively support our evolving business requirements.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Formulate and implement the internal IT strategy, focusing on identity management, endpoint administration, and network infrastructure.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to the IT team, setting operational standards and performance benchmarks.
• Oversee the complete technology lifecycle for employees, which includes onboarding, offboarding, and procurement of hardware.
• Collaborate with the Security Engineering team to ensure adherence to compliance standards, including SOC 2.
• Streamline manual processes and create internal tools to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Manage relationships with vendors, oversee software licensing, and maintain the departmental budget.
• Act as the primary escalation point for intricate technical challenges that arise.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies that align with the company's growth and operational goals.
• Conduct regular assessments of IT systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the IT team.
• Ensure that all IT practices align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present regular reports on IT performance and initiatives to senior management.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in IT Operations or Systems Administration, with demonstrated leadership in a rapidly growing startup environment.
• A solid history of developing or modernizing internal IT functions effectively.
• Proficiency in managing both macOS and Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with identity and access management, SaaS administration, and mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
• Strong experience in managing cross-functional projects and executing enterprise software implementations.
• Capability to create automations through scripting, APIs, or workflow automation tools.
• Experience in negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing budgets.
• Exceptional communication abilities, with a knack for influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong desire to drive improvements.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and risk management.
• Previous experience in a remote or hybrid work environment.
• Certifications in relevant IT disciplines (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP).

Skills & tools

• Identity Management: Proficient with Okta or similar SSO/SCIM/MFA systems.
• Mobile Device Management: Experience with Mosyle, Jamf, Kandji, or Intune.
• Business Applications: Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
• Infrastructure: Knowledge of networking, audiovisual systems, and office technology setups.
