The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing high-impact learning experiences that support functional onboarding, product education, and performance enablement across the organization. You will partner with subject matter experts across product, engineering, marketing, and client-facing teams to gather requirements, validate technical accuracy, and co-create engaging learning solutions. This role involves writing clear scripts for training videos, product walkthroughs, demos, and other educational content that explains complex workflows in an intuitive way. You will translate intricate product features into actionable and engaging learning experiences that drive adoption and competency. The position requires the use of motion and visual storytelling to make key concepts memorable, easy to grasp, and aligned with business objectives. You will also conduct needs assessments and learner research to ensure solutions are effective and drive measurable impact for the organization.

What you'll do
- Design and develop instructional content that supports onboarding, internal enablement, and product education for diverse audiences.
- Partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, validate technical accuracy, and co-create engaging learning experiences.
- Write scripts for training videos, product walkthroughs, demos, and other educational content that clearly communicates platform functionality.
- Translate complex workflows and product features into clear, actionable, and engaging learning experiences that reduce cognitive load.
- Create interactive guides, video explainers, motion graphics, and live training materials to support feature rollouts and product launches.
- Leverage Figma to design clean, branded layouts, prototypes, and learning templates that maintain visual consistency.
- Use motion and visual storytelling techniques to make key concepts memorable, easy to grasp, and applicable to real-world scenarios.
- Conduct needs assessments, learner research, and usability testing to ensure solutions drive measurable impact and meet user needs.
- Establish and evolve frameworks, templates, and systems to accelerate content creation and improve scalability across teams.
- Regularly audit and iterate content to ensure accessibility, usability, and alignment with evolving business goals and product strategies.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or enablement in a SaaS or tech environment with a proven track record.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and performance-based learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in Figma for visual design, prototyping, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with e-learning and motion design tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, Camtasia, After Effects, or Premiere Pro.
- Ability to translate technical and operational concepts into intuitive learning assets that non-technical audiences can easily understand.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills across visual, written, and verbal mediums to engage diverse learners.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), SCORM/xAPI tracking, and learner feedback loops to ensure quality outcomes.
Nice to have
- A degree in Instructional Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related visual or digital design field.
- Experience designing education or onboarding experiences for B2B SaaS platforms and complex software products.
- Background in motion, interaction, or visual storytelling with a strong portfolio demonstrating these skills.
- Experience with LMS platforms such as Skilljar, Lessonly, or WorkRamp and performance evaluation frameworks like Kirkpatrick or Bloom's Taxonomy.
Practical notes
This is a full-time role based in New York City. The position requires travel to client sites and participation in industry events as needed. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for this role.
