Speech Language Pathologist

About the role

You will own the full lifecycle of speech and language services for young children within the Early Intervention program, driving family-centered outcomes from initial contact through ongoing therapeutic collaboration. You will partner closely with parents and caregivers, using a coaching model that strengthens their understanding of the child's communication strengths and needs. Your work will directly support resilience and empowerment by designing and adapting intervention strategies that align with family routines and cultural perspectives. What you'll do

Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's speech production, language, cognition, and augmentative communication abilities within the Early Intervention framework.

Design and implement individualized remediation programs that address communication disorders and align with family priorities and daily routines.

Deliver transdisciplinary services to infants and toddlers from birth to three years in community-based settings, supporting development in natural environments.

Develop, document, and track treatment goals within the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) through collaborative planning with families and team members.

Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to parents and caregivers, fostering their capacity to support the child's communication growth long after sessions end.

Coordinate and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ensuring seamless integration of services and consistent communication across providers.

Administer and interpret standardized and non-standardized evaluations to identify strengths, needs, and evidence-based intervention strategies.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records that reflect progress, changes in condition, and adherence to regulatory and program standards.

Offer in-service training and educational resources to colleagues, families, and community partners to elevate understanding of speech and language development.

Support the implementation of assistive communication technologies and augmentative systems, helping families access tools that enhance participation.

Monitor and adjust intervention plans based on child and family progress, using data to inform decision-making and goal refinement.

Promote cultural humility and responsiveness by integrating family perspectives, values, and community resources into therapeutic practice.

Requirements

Hold a current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required for practice in the state of Massachusetts.

Possess documented experience working with infants and toddlers in early intervention or similar community-based settings.

Maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver's License to support reliable travel for community-based service delivery.

Be willing to travel within the Everett, Malden, and Medford service area to provide consistent and responsive client support.

Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship at this time.

Nice to have

Bilingual proficiency in languages identified as high-need within the service area, with potential eligibility for a 6% salary increase upon verification.

Previous experience delivering services using a coaching model within transdisciplinary Early Intervention teams.

Familiarity with assistive communication technologies and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.

Training or experience in delivering services to culturally and linguistically diverse families within community-based programs.

Practical notes

This is a fee-for-service position with a set hourly rate of $70.00.

The schedule offers various hours Monday through Friday to accommodate individual availability and service needs.

Employment is contingent on maintaining required licensure, valid documentation, and compliance with Eliot policies and state regulations.
