About the role
Join the hardware division at Egym to improve our fitness technology by leading industrial testing and PCBA validation. You will work across disciplines to build and maintain systems that ensure our mechatronic products meet high quality standards. In this position, you will own the definition and execution of validation protocols that bridge the gap between prototype and mass production. Your work will directly influence the reliability and performance of our core fitness equipment through rigorous testing methodologies. You will act as a technical leader, driving quality initiatives that align with company goals and operational excellence. This role requires a proactive mindset to identify risks early and implement robust testing solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that every electronic and mechatronic unit meets the stringent criteria required for series production.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Drive the validation process for PCBA and electromechanical assemblies by establishing protocols and applying industry standards.
- Architect and construct test systems, moving from initial concept and prototyping stages to full deployment in production environments.
- Partner with software and mechanical teams to design and develop testing procedures for both individual components and complex mechatronic units.
- Curate and structure measurement data while contributing to a centralized repository for evaluating test results and insights.
- Champion quality assurance activities for electronic components to provide critical support for series production ramp-up.
- Author detailed technical documentation while actively managing project timelines and tracking progress against strategic company objectives.
- Evaluate and integrate new testing methodologies to improve efficiency, coverage, and accuracy of validation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify test requirements and ensure alignment with product specifications and regulatory needs.
- Optimize test workflows to reduce manual effort and increase repeatability through automation and process refinement.
- Support the development and maintenance of test fixtures and interfaces to ensure seamless integration with automated test platforms.
- Analyze failure modes and work with engineering teams to implement corrective actions that enhance product robustness.
- Maintain up-to-date records of test procedures, results, and compliance documentation for audit and traceability purposes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing infrastructure to support scalability and future product lines.
- Serve as a point of contact for resolving technical issues that arise during testing and validation phases.
Requirements
- Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical field.
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in engineering roles focused on product development and testing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in electronics debugging using standard laboratory measurement techniques and signal analysis.
- Show experience in software development or scripting to automate testing procedures and debugging tasks.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills to interpret test data and draw conclusions that drive product improvements.
- Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Have a solid understanding of electronic components, circuits, and the fundamentals of mechatronic system integration.
- Be comfortable working with documentation and maintaining detailed records of technical activities and decisions.
Nice to have
- Hands-on embedded software development skills using C or C++ programming languages.
- Practical experience with Git version control systems for managing code and configuration artifacts.
- Familiarity with UNIX shell environments and standard network communication stacks.
- Background in automated industrial production environments and associated testing challenges.
- Experience with GUI development and scripting using platforms such as LabVIEW or TestStand.
- Ability to perform signal integrity assessments and create simulations to predict circuit behavior.
- Knowledge of EMC precompliance testing methods and relevant electromagnetic compatibility principles.
- Experience using Jira or similar tools for detailed project management and issue tracking.

- Strong capabilities in electronics debugging and root cause analysis.
- Experience with a wide range of lab equipment and modern signal analysis instruments.
- Proficiency in test system design, including hardware integration and software control.
