About the role
EarnIn is looking for a Staff Product Designer to join the Financial Intelligence Platform team. This position is responsible for elevating the core user experience surrounding financial flexibility and wellness offerings. The role owner will concentrate on shaping the foundational design of essential platform capabilities such as bank connectivity, earnings tracking, and repayment systems. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define user needs and translate them into intuitive, compliant digital experiences. The position requires a strategic mindset to balance user empathy with business and regulatory constraints. You will play a key role in ensuring the design language is consistent and scalable across all product touchpoints. Ultimately, your work will directly influence how users perceive and interact with their financial wellbeing on the platform.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Map and refine end-to-end customer journeys, covering account onboarding, earnings management, and repayment flows.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and data specialists to define requirements and validate design concepts through iterative testing.
- Architect and sustain design systems and reusable patterns to ensure clarity and consistency across the entire platform.
- Analyze usability issues within critical workflows to enhance user understanding, confidence, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Leverage qualitative research and quantitative user feedback to shape the design roadmap and prioritize high-impact opportunities.
- Align all interaction details with EarnIn's standards for reliability, user trust, and regulatory obligations.
- Liaise with Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams to ensure proposed solutions meet legal and industry guidelines.
- Contribute to building a collaborative team environment that values continuous learning and high-caliber design output.
- Translate complex financial processes into simple, accessible, and user-centered interfaces for diverse audiences.
- Support the definition of product specifications and design documentation for engineering implementation.
- Evaluate emerging design tools and methodologies to improve team efficiency and design quality.
- Act as a design thought leader within the product organization, influencing best practices and standards.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience designing digital consumer products, with a focus on core features and functionality.
- Present a portfolio that showcases strong problem-solving abilities, systematic design methodologies, and measurable improvements in user satisfaction and retention.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of financial products, user trust mechanisms, and the design of clear interfaces for intricate workflows.
- Exhibit the capacity to merge creative ideation with data-driven validation, including close collaboration with data teams to assess impact.
- Communicate design rationale effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear documentation and presentations.
- Show advanced proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and contemporary design workflows and standards.
- Thrive in structured settings that involve planned roadmaps while maintaining the agility to complete projects efficiently.
- Hold a genuine passion for solving real customer challenges and enhancing overall financial wellness through design.
- Understand the importance of compliance and be able to design within strict regulatory frameworks without compromising user experience.

Practical notes
The role is based in Bengaluru, India, with a hybrid work model requiring presence in the office for two days each week.
