What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions that support our applications and services.
- Automate deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Collaborate with development teams to define and implement best practices for CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production environments.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively, implementing solutions to enhance system reliability and uptime.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost management.
- Develop and maintain configuration management scripts using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to ensure consistent environments across all stages of development.
- Implement security best practices across the infrastructure, including vulnerability assessments and compliance checks.
- Document processes, configurations, and system architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents as they arise.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance our DevOps practices.
- Work closely with QA teams to ensure automated testing is integrated into the deployment process, improving the overall quality of releases.
- Engage in regular retrospectives to assess the effectiveness of DevOps practices and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps or similar role, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, and experience managing repositories and branching strategies.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience in deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, as well as experience with firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar solutions.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
- Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.
