Product Marketer

Job description
About the role
Dust is seeking a Product Marketer to own the end-to-end narrative for how the platform is positioned and launched in the market. The role requires shaping the story behind every major product release and translating complex engineering work into clear value for buyers and users. You will act as the primary liaison between product, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure alignment on messaging and positioning. This position demands comfort with fast-moving product cycles and the ability to operate autonomously within a highly distributed team. You will define the launch motion for Dust, ensuring that new capabilities are understood, adopted, and championed across the organization.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own product launches from initial narrative and positioning through asset creation, amplification strategy, and sales enablement, ensuring every release has a clear go-to-market path.
- Build and run an always-on launch program that keeps pace with Dust's rapid product development, supporting at least 5-7 releases each quarter with consistent execution.
- Partner closely with the engineering team to understand what is shipping, why it matters, and which initiatives require a broader market moment to maximize impact.
- Establish lightweight launch tiers and processes that bring structure and consistency to the team without slowing down the pace of product development.
- Develop positioning and messaging for new capabilities, translating technical innovation into clear, differentiated narratives that resonate with Dust's buyers and internal stakeholders.
- Create launch assets across formats, including short-form videos, social campaigns, web copy, blogs, livestream events, customer communications, and sales collateral that support multiple stages of the buyer journey.
- Develop unique, scroll-stopping feature overview videos by owning storyboarding and screen capture end-to-end, while leveraging in-house creative and design support or external contractors as needed to maintain quality.
- Experiment with new formats and approaches to find the most effective ways to make Dust's product understandable, memorable, and exciting for different audience segments.
- Build strong relationships with engineers and user leads, becoming a partner they proactively bring into product launches to ensure technical accuracy and market relevance.
- Develop enough technical fluency to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and uncover the most important customer problems and market opportunities.
- Operate effectively in Dust's highly autonomous product environment, where engineers often lead product initiatives directly and require a collaborative marketing partner.
- Bring customer, competitive, and market context into conversations about how we position and communicate the product to ensure messaging is grounded in real-world insights.
- Partner with Dust's founders and marketing leadership on major product narratives and moments that define the company's story in the market.
- Equip Sales and Customer Success teams with the messaging, assets, and context they need to effectively pitch new capabilities to customers at every stage of adoption.
- Partner with Brand & Content to turn product innovation into broader editorial and content opportunities that amplify reach and reinforce positioning.
- Work with Growth and Field Marketing to extend launches across campaigns, events, and distribution channels, ensuring consistent visibility across touchpoints.
- Ensure Dust's product positioning and differentiation remain clear and consistent as the platform evolves and new capabilities are introduced.
- Create a reliable pipeline of high-quality product content that teams across Dust can use and distribute to support ongoing engagement and education.
- Analyze launch performance and iterate on strategies based on feedback and results to continuously improve the effectiveness of product storytelling.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to identify emerging use cases and success stories that can be transformed into scalable marketing assets.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of dedicated product marketing experience, ideally with strong PMM foundations in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams to define and execute product positioning and launch strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a portfolio or examples of product messaging, launch assets, and campaign materials.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, autonomous environment where priorities can shift quickly based on product updates and market feedback.
- Understanding of product marketing fundamentals including positioning, segmentation, messaging, and sales enablement.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Willingness to iterate quickly and incorporate feedback from stakeholders across product, engineering, and executive teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in the AI or enterprise software sector, where product complexity and rapid innovation are common.
- Familiarity with no-code or low-code platforms and how they enable product teams to build and iterate quickly.
- Background in video production or storytelling, with examples of scroll-stopping feature overview content.
- Prior work with startups that have scaled quickly, demonstrating an understanding of growth-stage marketing challenges.
- Experience aligning product launches with investor and customer events, including virtual and in-person formats.
