Key facts
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and services.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability of applications.
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand application requirements and provide infrastructure support.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Optimize cloud resource usage and manage costs effectively across various environments.
- Ensure security best practices are followed in all aspects of the infrastructure and application deployment.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents as they arise.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our DevOps practices.
- Assist in the migration of legacy systems to cloud-based solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Work closely with QA teams to integrate automated testing into the deployment pipeline.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services such as EC2, S3, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, HTTP, and TCP/IP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and improving existing processes.
Nice to have
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile environment.
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-growing company is a plus.
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements related to cloud infrastructure.
