What you'll do
- Collaborate with senior IT security professionals to assess and enhance the organization's security posture, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Assist in conducting security assessments, audits, and risk analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures.
- Support incident response efforts by analyzing security incidents and contributing to the development of incident response plans.
- Engage in continuous monitoring of security systems, identifying potential threats and responding to security alerts in a timely manner.

Requirements
- Currently serving in the military or a recent veteran eligible for the SkillBridge program.
- Strong interest in IT security, with a foundational understanding of security principles and practices.
- Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and independence.
- Basic understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
- Proficiency in using common IT security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of IT security.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
