About the role
The RegTech team builds data products that allow our compliance department to satisfy regulatory requirements. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to manage, monitor, and create data marts, feeds, and dashboards for internal compliance and external reporting. In this capacity, you will serve as the primary analytical interface between complex regulatory rule sets and the operational data that drives compliance workflows. You will own the logic that ensures our trade and order lifecycle data meets the stringent standards required by regulators and examiners. The role requires a deep understanding of how regulatory narratives translate into concrete data structures and validation rules. You will be responsible for ensuring that the data viewed by compliance teams is accurate, timely, and auditable. This position is critical for maintaining the integrity of our regulatory reporting infrastructure.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and maintain data marts and Sigma reports for regulatory functions including CAT, EBS, trade monitoring, and AML.
- Translate regulatory changes and obligations into specific data engineering requirements.
- Define and document core business logic and transformations within data marts.
- Manage monitoring and alerting for inbound regulatory files and real-time feeds to ensure data quality.
- Respond to ad-hoc data requests and regulatory exam inquiries from Legal and Compliance teams.
- Partner with QA to build automated testing frameworks, including dbt tests and regression testing.
- Optimize data models and SQL queries for performance and scalability.
- Identify and report upstream data anomalies to data producers.
- Design and implement Sigma Computing dashboards that provide clear visibility into regulatory adherence metrics.
- Conduct root cause analysis on data discrepancies to ensure regulatory submissions are error-free.
- Collaborate with data producers to define schema and data quality standards for trade and order events.
- Establish data lineage documentation to support audit trails and regulatory evidence collection.
- Lead the development of automated alerts for threshold breaches in trade monitoring and EBS reporting.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to ensure the RegTech team maintains sustainable ownership of all data products.
Requirements
- Deep domain knowledge of the trade and order lifecycle, including orders, executions, and allocations.
- Experience implementing and monitoring data for core regulatory processes like CAT, EBS, and AML.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience building business intelligence reports, specifically using Sigma Computing.
- Ability to work within a data team to ideate, build, test, and review technical solutions.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for articulating technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
- Understanding of the implications of regulatory examinations on data retention and accessibility.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python and Jupyter Notebooks.
- Proficiency with dbt.
- Familiarity with NoSQL and semi-structured data.
- Knowledge of Databricks, AWS, Airflow, GitHub, and Agile development.
- Experience documenting procedures for regulatory purposes.
