As a Senior Software Engineer at DoubleVerify, you will become an integral part of a dynamic team focused on developing innovative classification products. What you'll do

Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to design and develop classification products that meet industry standards.
Lead the architecture and implementation of projects that will significantly impact the functionality of our systems.
Create and deploy new features while utilizing a cloud-native technology stack to ensure scalability and performance.
Optimize existing processes and systems through the integration of new technologies, enhancing both product quality and engineering practices.
Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of high code quality and best practices.
Engage in troubleshooting and debugging of complex systems to ensure reliability and performance.
Work with in-memory distributed caches like Aerospike or Redis to improve data access speed and efficiency.
Utilize messaging systems such as Apache Kafka to facilitate seamless data flow across distributed systems.
Implement and manage scalable microservices architecture using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring that our applications can grow with demand.
Handle data storage and retrieval using SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Cassandra.
Participate in Agile development methodologies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to enhance team collaboration.
Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git, GitLab, or Jenkins to streamline deployment processes.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development using industry-standard programming languages such as Scala, Java, Rust, Closure, Kotlin, or Go.
Strong foundation in computer science principles, including object-oriented design, functional programming, data structures, multi-threading, and distributed systems.
Proven experience with in-memory distributed caching solutions and messaging frameworks.
Familiarity with containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, and experience in designing microservices architectures.
Proficient in working with both SQL databases (like MySQL and PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions (such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Couchbase).
Experience in building scalable distributed systems in a big data environment, utilizing stream processing technologies like Kafka Streams or Spark.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with Agile methodologies and automated testing practices to ensure high-quality software delivery.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

Previous experience in online advertising technologies would be advantageous.
Familiarity with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and its principles would be a plus.
Additional knowledge of data analytics or machine learning concepts is beneficial.
