About the role
You will own the end-to-end design of merchant marketing campaigns and experiences that power DoorDash's advertising and promotional products. You will define the strategic vision for the marketing tooling system that serves both SMB and enterprise restaurants across global markets. You will lead the evolution of build-first design by shaping workflows, systems, and playbooks that scale across teams and partners. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to turn ambiguous problems into clear, executable design outcomes. You will mentor designers, influence roadmaps through prototypes, and ensure high-quality execution that drives measurable business impact. You will contribute directly to the growth and efficiency of one of DoorDash's fastest-growing businesses by enabling faster experimentation and shorter iteration cycles.

Define campaigns and marketing experiences from concept to execution, owning end-to-end design for ads and promotional products used by restaurants worldwide.

Design across systems and workflows, contributing to shared tools such as prompt libraries, component generators, and workflow automations that improve team productivity.
Mentor peers on responsible AI usage and contribute reusable frameworks that scale beyond your immediate team.
Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence roadmaps through evidence-based thinking and tangible prototypes.
Multiply team impact through mentorship, recruiting, and inclusive practices that elevate the design culture across the organization.
Lead discovery and synthesis by writing briefs that turn customer insights and business goals into actionable roadmaps for complex marketing problems.
Bring clarity to ambiguous, cross-team problems by defining work that ships and making thoughtful tradeoffs between quality, speed, and impact.
Stay close to execution during iteration to ensure high-fidelity designs and production-ready prototypes that set the standard for craft and usability.
Leverage data to inform decisions, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-impact outcomes that directly support restaurant growth and engagement.
Prototype and test solutions in realistic contexts, validating assumptions through user research and collaborating closely with engineers and partners.
Champion design systems and patterns that ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability across global markets and product lines.
Requirements
You have a portfolio demonstrating craft excellence, systems thinking, and leadership through influence in product and marketing design.
You use data to inform decisions, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-impact outcomes in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
You are comfortable working in code and with LLM-powered tools, prototyping in production, and contributing to implementation when needed.
You design and build solutions that scale across teams, workflows, and global markets while maintaining consistency and usability.
You thrive in ambiguity and create clarity through shipped work rather than only presentations or documentation.
You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can synthesize complex information into clear narratives for diverse audiences.
You are proactive in seeking feedback, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and building trust across distributed teams.

Practical notes
This role is based in New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle and reports to the Design Manager for Ads & Promotions (Restaurant Experience Team).
We follow a hybrid model requiring 1-2 days per week in a Design Hub, with the remainder remote.
