About the role
You will lead and grow a team of data science and analytics leaders and practitioners across a portfolio that spans 0→1 products, products still being shaped and commercialized, and businesses already scaling quickly. You will own the analytical direction for the portfolio, including experimentation, KPI design, forecasting, decision support, funnel analytics, and foundational measurement. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Strategy & Operations, and Go-to-Market leaders to influence roadmap, commercialization, and investment decisions. You will build the operating system for decision-making by improving instrumentation, creating single sources of truth, and connecting short-term execution with long-term business outcomes. You will operate with broad scope and high autonomy in a startup-like environment while benefiting from the support and talent density of a scaled analytics organization. You will report into a Senior Director on our Merchant Analytics team in our Analytics organization.

What you'll do
Define and own the end-to-end measurement strategy for the Commerce Platform portfolio, translating ambiguous business problems into clear analytical roadmaps and success metrics.
Design and govern experiments across products, establishing rigorous causal inference practices and ensuring decision frameworks are robust to noisy, evolving product environments.
Build and maintain single sources of truth for key business metrics, improving instrumentation so teams can move quickly with reliable, self-serve data.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Strategy & Operations, and Go-to-Market leaders to shape roadmap priorities, commercialization models, and investment cases for high-ROI opportunities.
Lead a high-performing data science and analytics team, developing managers, setting technical standards, and raising the quality and speed of decision-making across the portfolio.
Operate with startup-like autonomy and broad scope while leveraging the scale and talent density of a centralized analytics organization to drive durable business outcomes.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations and executive-level narratives that drive action and consensus among cross-functional stakeholders.
Oversee funnel analytics, forecasting, and decision support to help teams understand performance, prioritize initiatives, and track long-term business health.
Champion data quality and foundational measurement, enabling faster experimentation, clearer insights, and more reliable comparisons across products at different stages of maturity.
Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams to align metrics, pricing experiments, and monetization strategies with portfolio growth and profitability goals.
Champion the use of data and experimentation to surface and scale the highest-ROI opportunities across the diverse Commerce Platform portfolio.
Work closely with Engineering to ensure analytics implementations are performant, scalable, and maintainable, supporting both real-time and longitudinal analysis.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide timely, trustworthy insights into product performance and user behavior.
Act as a thought partner to product and business leaders, helping them build intuition, test hypotheses, and refine strategies based on evidence.
Requirements
You have 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field, including significant experience leading senior teams and developing managers.
You have strong product and business analytics judgment, with a track record of defining metrics, building decision frameworks, and influencing strategy in ambiguous environments.
You have deep expertise in experimentation and causal inference, and you are comfortable making decisions in settings with imperfect data, evolving products, and small or noisy samples.
You bring hands-on technical fluency in SQL and statistical analysis, and you can go deep enough to raise the technical bar for the team while operating effectively at a leadership level.
You have experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and business leaders, and can translate complex analysis into clear recommendations that drive action.
You are comfortable navigating a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment while maintaining rigor in measurement and analysis.
You have a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality analytical work under tight deadlines.
You communicate clearly and persuasively, both in writing and in conversation, with an ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
Nice to have
Experience building analytics and data science organizations in early-stage, high-growth environments.
Deep experience with monetization, pricing, and commercial analytics in marketplace or two-sided platforms.
Background in building and maintaining experimentation platforms and causal inference methodologies.
Experience with SQL-based analytics and data warehousing in large-scale production environments.
Track record of mentoring data scientists and analysts, with experience in performance management and career development.
