Senior Data Scientist
Job description
USA.
About the role
USA
This role establishes how experimentation operates across DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt. You will define the statistical methods and standards that shape marketplace experimentation. Your work will close gaps between current capabilities and future needs. Teams across three brands will rely on the methodology and tooling you help create. Success is measured by adoption and trust in your guidance.
You report to the Data Science Manager on the Decision Systems team within the DoorDash organization. The position is based in New York, New York, with expected occasional travel within the United States and internationally.
About the Team
The Decision Systems Experimentation Platform team builds the standards and infrastructure that let DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt experiment successfully across every side of the marketplace. The goal is faster, more reliable decisions for every team that depends on experimentation. This role helps define the next evolution of global experimentation as three brands combine. You will work alongside the existing Experimentation Platform team based in London, United Kingdom.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...
- Design the statistical methods that encourage experimentation best practice and help teams see results faster across all marketplaces.
- Work with leadership to define the vision for experimentation program level initiatives.
- Set the standards that experimenters across three brands and many markets rely on to trust their results.
- Partner directly with engineering to help build the platform that supports measurement and learning.
- Help decide where AI belongs in the experimentation process, and where it does not.
We're excited about you because...
- You have six or more years of data science and experimentation experience.
- You think about experimentation at a program level, not only running experiments within a single team.
- You have a solid technical grounding in experimentation methodology. You understand why practices like correcting for multiple comparisons or power calculations matter.
- You are comfortable working as an individual contributor while bringing strong stakeholder management and prioritization skills.
