About the role
This position is for a Staff Solutions Architect to guide Docker's most important customers. You will act as a key technical leader, bridging product development with pre- and post-sales customer engagements. This role focuses on driving significant business and technical value for clients.

What you'll do
- Lead technical initiatives for Docker's top-tier customers, accelerating their adoption of container and AI technologies, with a focus on developer workflows.
- Engage with customer and internal Docker teams to understand technical and business objectives and challenges related to their container and AI journeys.
- Develop and manage engagement strategies that incorporate current and new Docker offerings to meet crucial business goals.
- Oversee rapid prototyping with Docker engineering and customer teams to validate new use cases.
- Collaborate with Docker teams to create and deliver customized demonstrations and content for specific customer needs.
- Provide high-impact enablement and best practices content to audiences ranging from developers to C-level executives.
- Act as a technical thought leader within a specific area of responsibility, both internally and externally, by creating and delivering content.
- Collect field feedback from customer teams and Docker's pre- and post-sales teams.
- Coordinate with the Field CTO and other Solutions Architects to prioritize and contextualize field requests for product and engineering teams.
- Work directly with Docker product and engineering teams on workflow and feature alignment based on revenue-impactful customer use cases.
- Serve as an early adopter for new functionality developed by Docker product and engineering teams.
- Contribute to internal technical enablement and customer enablement needs, and review relevant content.
- Support the sales enablement team with internal technical training for new products and services.
Requirements
- Demonstrated background as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solution Architect in intricate enterprise settings.
- Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience managing customer relationships at both technical and business levels.
- Proven ability to present solutions and demonstrations to various audiences, both virtually and in person.
- Experience collaborating with internal product, engineering, and technical support teams to improve documentation, enablement, and product features.
- Background in developing application code and a clear understanding of daily developer challenges.
- Capability to resolve technical issues and translate customer experiences into actionable feedback for engineering.
- Experience creating collateral to help customers adopt best practices.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, DevOps, and modern application architectures.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% internationally as a senior representative to prospective clients, customers, and technical alliance partners.

- Experience with Docker, container ecosystems, or related technologies.
- Background in Development, Agentic AI development, Software Development Lifecycle, and/or Software Supply Chain Security.

Practical notes
Docker does not offer visa sponsorship for this role. Travel up to 50% internationally is required.
