What you'll do
- Take technical ownership of critical accounting infrastructure projects, designing and building backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that power DoorDash's financial reporting, reconciliation, and close workflows at scale.
- Partner directly with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into reliable, auditable, and automated systems that meet strict compliance standards.
- Shape the team's architecture and engineering best practices, mentoring junior engineers and raising the technical bar across the organization through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Drive measurable improvements in data accuracy, pipeline reliability, and system performance in a high-impact environment where errors have financial implications.
- Navigate the intersection of engineering and finance by understanding concepts like revenue recognition, reconciliation, and auditability to ensure systems are built to meet regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with distributed teams across Deliveroo, Wolt, and DoorDash US to align on global standards and solve complex problems that affect the broader marketplace.
- Utilize modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran to build scalable and maintainable data pipelines that support timely financial close.
- Work within a fast-paced marketplace environment, balancing autonomy with cross-functional coordination to deliver solutions that keep pace with business growth.
- Contribute to a culture of ownership by leading critical projects end-to-end and ensuring that systems are reliable, transparent, and well-documented.
- Support the development of processes that improve data quality and enable efficient audits, strengthening the foundation for strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with a strong track record of owning and delivering complex backend or data infrastructure projects to completion.
- Demonstrate deep expertise in distributed systems and data engineering, with hands-on experience in tools like Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, or similar modern data stack technologies.
- Show the ability to navigate the intersection of engineering and finance, with a solid understanding of financial processes such as revenue recognition, reconciliation, and auditability.
- Prove you can collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicating clearly with Finance, Accounting, and Engineering teams.
- Have experience working in environments where compliance and controls are critical, including familiarity with SOX controls and data quality frameworks.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to dive into complex systems to diagnose issues and implement robust solutions.
- Communicate effectively in English, both in writing and during discussions, to ensure alignment across global teams.
- Thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where priorities can shift and adaptability is essential.

- Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite or similar enterprise resource planning platforms.
- Experience working with SOX controls in a previous role.
