What you'll do

• Develop and maintain features in Applaud using C#, .NET, and WPF to ensure responsive and reliable user experiences.
• Participate in the ongoing COBOL replacement initiative by converting legacy components into robust, object-oriented C# solutions.
• Leverage Claude and Claude Code to accelerate development workflows and solve complex problems with improved efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, providing dedicated India-hours support coverage to minimize business disruption.
• Write clean, testable, well-documented code that adheres to standards and is easily maintainable by other team members.
• Participate in code reviews by giving and receiving constructive feedback to uphold code quality and team knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with the Software Architect to implement architectural decisions and ensure alignment with long-term product goals.
• Work with databases to optimize queries, refine schema designs, and maintain data integrity across critical operations.
• Contribute to improving development processes, testing practices, and documentation to support scalable and sustainable engineering.
• Communicate effectively with US-based team members across time zones to ensure alignment on priorities and expectations.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation sessions, and daily standups to promote transparency and iterative progress.
• Support the continuous delivery pipeline by identifying opportunities for automation and process refinement.
• Assist in creating technical specifications that translate business requirements into actionable development tasks.
• Mentor junior engineers by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on best practices and coding standards.

Requirements

• Possess 4-6 years of professional software development experience in relevant technologies.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in C# and .NET, including Core/.NET 6+ or acceptable Framework experience.
• Show experience with modern UI frameworks such as WPF, WinForms, MAUI, or Blazor in prior projects.
• Have hands-on experience with Visual Studio Professional and related development tools.
• Understand object-oriented programming principles and design patterns to build flexible and scalable systems.
• Apply solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL for data manipulation and optimization.
• Use version control systems, especially Git, to manage code changes and collaborate effectively.
• Exhibit the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues in production environments independently.
• Communicate clearly and work effectively with team members located across different time zones.
• Thrive in a hybrid work model by committing to 4 days of in-office presence in Hyderabad.
• Hold a Bachelor of Science or Graduate degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Be comfortable working with legacy codebases and learning new systems quickly under pressure.
• Show persistence and patience when resolving difficult issues in systems that were not originally built by you.

Nice to have

• Experience with WPF data binding, dependency properties, and performance optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment cycles.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization technologies that support scalable deployments.
• Understanding of automated testing frameworks and test-driven development methodologies.
• Experience with SQL Server and database migration tools to manage schema evolution.

Practical notes

This role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days of presence in the Hyderabad office and 1 day of remote work. Employment is full-time during standard business hours, requiring availability during India hours for production support. Travel requirements are limited to local office attendance as specified in the hybrid policy. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Candidates must be able to commit to the full duration of the engagement as outlined in the employment terms.
