What you'll do
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews with hiring managers.
- Manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a seamless transition into the company through orientation sessions and necessary paperwork.
- Support the HR team in maintaining employee records and databases, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Help organize and facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that align with company goals and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and feedback sessions, to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Support performance management processes by coordinating evaluations and maintaining documentation.
- Collaborate with the HR team on various projects, including diversity and inclusion initiatives, to enhance workplace equity.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to continuously improve HR processes and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in an HR support role or similar position.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws in Canada.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in HR software and tools, with experience in managing databases and employee records.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Nice to have
- Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Familiarity with HR metrics and analytics to assess and improve HR initiatives.
- Knowledge of French is an asset, given the bilingual nature of the workplace in Montréal.
- Previous experience in a tech or renewable energy industry is a plus.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR management systems.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and performance management software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building relationships and fostering a positive work environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
