What you'll do
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and services across various environments.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate DevOps practices into the development lifecycle, enhancing productivity and code quality.
- Monitor system performance and reliability, utilizing metrics and logs to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security of applications hosted on platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Develop and enforce best practices for configuration management, using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
- Lead incident response efforts, troubleshooting and resolving production issues swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular system audits and assessments to ensure compliance with security standards and operational policies.
- Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the DevOps team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) strategies, enhancing deployment efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions to improve our DevOps practices.
- Document processes, workflows, and system configurations to ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge transfer across the team.
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing support for production systems as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or similar role, with a strong focus on automation and cloud technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby, with the ability to write clean, maintainable code.
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP/S.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and knowledge of branching strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Trello.
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments and experience with tools for vulnerability scanning.
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and initiative.
