What you'll do

• Lead and manage the bar team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and high performance.
• Develop and implement creative cocktail menus and beverage offerings that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that orders are placed in a timely manner to prevent shortages.
• Monitor and control bar expenses, including labor costs and inventory, to maximize profitability while maintaining quality service.
• Train and mentor staff on mixology techniques, customer service standards, and health and safety regulations to ensure compliance and excellence.
• Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience, encouraging repeat visits and positive reviews.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop food and drink pairings that enhance the dining experience and promote special events.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, using them as opportunities to improve service and address any issues promptly.
• Organize and promote events such as tastings, happy hours, and themed nights to drive traffic and increase sales.
• Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a clean and safe working environment for staff and guests.
• Analyze sales reports and customer feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement, adjusting strategies accordingly.
• Build relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure the bar is stocked with high-quality products.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, beverage trends, and bar operations, with a passion for creating unique drink experiences.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on creating memorable experiences for guests.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficient in using point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.

• Certification in bartending or mixology from a recognized institution.
• Experience in event planning or marketing within the hospitality sector.
• Familiarity with local and international beverage trends, including craft beers and artisanal spirits.

• Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Maltese and English, is a plus.
