Position Summary

The Regional Safety Manager provides strategic oversight for Environmental, Health, and Safety performance across multiple sites. This leadership position ensures strict adherence to environmental, health, and transportation regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture. The role is responsible for reducing risk through systematic audits, thorough investigations, and disciplined program management. Success in this position requires close collaboration with site teams and corporate stakeholders to strengthen operational readiness and safety excellence.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and manage regional Environmental, Health, and Safety strategies, policies, and procedures in strict accordance with local, state, and federal mandates.

Champion a robust safety culture through visible leadership, targeted coaching, and behavior-focused practices tailored to each site.

Lead comprehensive incident investigations, including near-misses and first-aid events, utilizing structured root-cause methodologies to identify systemic issues and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Execute EHS compliance audits, risk evaluations, and job hazard assessments to identify exposures and implement effective controls.

Design, deliver, and evaluate safety training programs for all employee levels, covering emergency response, hazardous materials handling, equipment operation, and safety behaviors.

Act as the central liaison with site operations, corporate oversight, and external regulatory bodies to ensure alignment and compliance.

Create, document, and exercise site-specific Emergency Action Plans and crisis response protocols to ensure organizational resilience.

Assess new equipment, processes, and materials from an EHS perspective prior to authorization and deployment.

Champion active employee participation in regional and site-level safety committees.

Support enterprise-wide EHS initiatives by adapting and implementing company standards across the regional footprint.

Collaborate with Human Resources, Legal, and Operations to resolve intricate employee relations issues with safety implications.

Serve as the definitive liaison for regulatory inspections, inquiries, and reporting engagements.

Analyze regional safety performance data, including TRIR, DART, and LTIR, to identify trends and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Education and Experience

Candidates must bring seven to ten years of progressive EHS experience, with at least three years in a leadership or multi-site capacity.

A Master's degree in a relevant field related to environmental health and safety is required.

Board-certified professional credentials, such as Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist, are strongly preferred.

Hard Skills

Demonstrated expertise in OSHA General Industry standards (1910), EPA requirements, and DOT regulations.

Proficiency in incident investigation using structured methods such as 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.

Mastery of risk assessment techniques and hazard control strategies, including Job Hazard Analysis and the hierarchy of controls.

Advanced capability in safety data analytics, KPI measurement, and EHS platform utilization.

Solid understanding of industrial hygiene principles, including monitoring for chemical, physical, and biological hazards.

Knowledge of ergonomic assessment techniques to mitigate musculoskeletal disorder risks.

Work Location and Conditions

This role is based in Orlando, Florida and operates on a full-time basis. The compensation package includes a base salary of $120,000.00 annually. The incumbent may be required to travel between regional sites and attend meetings as needed.

What You Will Do

Champion consistent safety behaviors through proactive coaching and observation programs across the region.

Design and maintain site-specific Emergency Action Plans to reflect current regulations and operational realities.

Coordinate advanced safety training for employees at all levels, including modules on hazardous materials and emergency response.

Collaborate with leadership teams and regulatory partners to close compliance gaps and ensure audit readiness.

Evaluate equipment, materials, and processes from an EHS standpoint before implementation across facilities.

Analyze regional safety metrics to identify risk and present clear, data-driven recommendations to executive leadership.

Facilitate safety committees that encourage employee engagement and strengthen regional program effectiveness.

Support the rollout of corporate EHS systems and standards across the region.

Conduct detailed incident investigations using methods such as 5 Whys to drive meaningful corrective and preventive actions.

Serve as the primary regulatory contact, managing inquiries and ensuring accurate reporting during inspections.

Requirements

Hold seven to ten years of progressive EHS experience, including more than three years in a managerial or multi-site role.

Possess a Master's degree in a field closely related to occupational health and safety.

Maintain professional certification as a safety professional, industrial hygienist, or equivalent.

Demonstrate expert knowledge of OSHA General Industry (1910), EPA, and DOT regulations.

Apply structured investigation techniques to address systemic issues.

Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses using the hierarchy of controls.

Analyze safety data, track key performance indicators, and use EHS platforms and advanced analytics.

Perform ergonomic evaluations and recommend controls to reduce injury risk.
