About the role
In this HR Business Partner role at Daniels Health, you will act as a strategic advisor to operational leaders across Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, aligning people initiatives with the company's growth objectives. You will own the end-to-end employee lifecycle for hourly positions, from talent acquisition and onboarding to retention and structured offboarding. You will translate complex labor regulations into practical guidance, ensuring that field operations and service teams understand and apply requirements consistently. You will build trusted relationships with site leaders, helping them navigate sensitive personnel issues while maintaining a fair, respectful, and inclusive workplace. You will use data and feedback to identify patterns, recommend interventions, and drive improvements that enhance engagement and performance. You will serve as a visible champion of safety, compliance, and culture, reinforcing behaviors that protect patients, staff, and the environment. You will collaborate closely with finance to manage labor costs, control overtime, and ensure accurate timekeeping practices across the region. You will represent the voice of the workforce to leadership, surfacing trends, risks, and opportunities to support continuous improvement.

What you'll do
Coordinate recruitment and staffing plans with operations leaders to forecast hourly needs and streamline hiring for field roles.
Partner with store managers and department heads to design and implement performance management systems that clarify expectations, track results, and support development.
Lead onboarding initiatives for hourly employees, ensuring consistent delivery of company standards, safety protocols, and cultural orientation.
Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns, applying fair and consistent approaches that align with company policies and legal requirements.
Drive engagement initiatives tailored to hourly teams, including recognition programs, feedback channels, and communication campaigns.
Analyze workforce metrics and turnover data to identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and monitor the impact of changes.
Collaborate with compliance and legal partners to audit work rules, breaks, and scheduling practices, reducing risk of wage and hour violations.
Support the implementation of new technologies and process changes, helping teams adapt through clear communication and targeted training.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within operations, promoting equitable practices and inclusive team dynamics.
Conduct stay interviews and career pathing conversations to uncover growth opportunities and build retention strategies for critical roles.
Partner with safety leaders to reinforce hazard awareness, incident prevention, and corrective actions in line with organizational standards.
Own internal communications for your region, translating leadership priorities into actionable updates for frontline teams.
Coordinate with finance and payroll to validate timekeeping, address discrepancies, and ensure accurate, timely processing of hours.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with union representatives, where applicable, fostering transparency and constructive dialogue.
Serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers, responding promptly to inquiries and escalating issues as needed.
Requirements

Nice to have
Experience in healthcare, medical waste, or clinical services environments is preferred.
Background in supporting hourly, frontline, and unionized workforces is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with HR systems, timekeeping tools, and data analytics platforms will help you hit the ground running.
Practical notes
This is a hybrid role with three days onsite per week.
The position involves regular travel across Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, including occasional overnight stays.
You must be eligible for employment in the United States and able to work in the location specified.
