The is entrusted with the comprehensive oversight and execution of the maintenance program for critical electro-mechanical assets located in Stow, Ohio. This role demands ownership of the entire equipment lifecycle, from daily operations to emergency interventions, ensuring seamless functionality and adherence to stringent regulatory standards. The successful hire will serve as the technical authority responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of complex processing systems. You will be required to develop an intimate operational knowledge of the medical waste processing center to effectively diagnose issues and implement lasting solutions. This position is pivotal in supporting site productivity and upholding the highest levels of safety and compliance across the facility. The role necessitates a proactive mindset capable of anticipating potential failures before they escalate into major disruptions. What you'll do
- Execute all preventative and corrective maintenance tasks for Daniels robotic wash lines, autoclaves, and boilers to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform immediate emergency repairs to critical equipment to minimize production downtime and maintain operational flow.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to log all work orders, track asset history, and manage system data.
- Conduct remote troubleshooting and diagnostics for PLC-controlled machines to resolve issues efficiently via telephone support.
- Design, plan, and implement machine upgrades and modifications aimed at enhancing safety, compliance, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Assemble, align, and install new equipment and modifications, strictly adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
- Provide timely engineering and technical support to both maintenance and operational teams during equipment failures.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to coordinate spare parts procurement and manage travel schedules for service calls.
- Develop and supervise preventative maintenance schedules to guarantee all equipment meets or exceeds original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
- Communicate directly with Plant Managers to schedule necessary downtime for major maintenance activities without impacting production.
- Generate daily reports on equipment downtime events exceeding one hour to facilitate rapid response and analysis.
- Compile weekly reports detailing outstanding and major upcoming maintenance events for managerial review.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive spare parts inventory programs in conjunction with plant management and technical staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and compliance standards during every maintenance procedure.
- Act as the primary technical resource for diagnosing faults in automated machines and coordinating effective solutions.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or production engineering, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
- Possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar maintenance engineering capacity.
- Have hands-on mechanical experience specifically with mechanical assemblies and production equipment.
- Exhibit practical welding experience essential for performing on-site repair work.
- Possess electrical experience necessary to identify fault conditions and communicate technical issues effectively.
- Demonstrate the ability to design or plan modifications to both mechanical and electrical systems to improve operability.
- Show proficiency in troubleshooting and modifying PLC-controlled machines using remote connection technologies.
- Have extensive experience developing and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Understand computerized machines and possess an intermediate concept of machine language for diagnostic purposes.
- Maintain strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with technician teams and articulate technical faults.
- Capability to quickly identify faults in automated machines and initiate corrective actions.
- Willingness to travel to various regional sites to address emergency maintenance needs and major breakdowns.
- Ability to strictly adhere to timelines and budget constraints for all maintenance projects.
- Knowledge of medical waste processing center operations is mandatory for ensuring reliability and compliance.
