About the role
You will own the design and implementation of core components within Cresta's AI-driven customer interaction platform, directly shaping features used by live production systems. You will take responsibility for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers real-time conversational AI agents across multiple customer channels. This role requires you to own end-to-end project execution, from initial requirements gathering through design, development, testing, and deployment. You will work closely with product managers and machine learning researchers to translate high-level objectives into reliable and scalable software solutions. A significant part of your ownership involves ensuring that the systems you build meet strict standards for performance, reliability, and security in enterprise environments. You will be expected to drive technical discussions and propose solutions that balance innovation with operational stability. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact how efficiently and effectively contact centers operate for leading global enterprises.

What you'll do
- Architect and develop software components that enable real-time AI-powered customer interactions in contact center environments.
- Implement features that combine large language models, data processing systems, and user-facing applications to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, machine learning researchers, and other engineers to ship production-ready solutions on demanding timelines.
- Build and maintain systems focused on conversation evaluation, monitoring, and reliability to ensure high quality and consistency in AI-driven workflows.
- Develop platform and infrastructure solutions that support scalable, low-latency AI inference and data processing for enterprise workloads.
- Contribute to the full contact center workflow, including real-time assistance, automation, post-call analytics, and continuous optimization features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices in software engineering and system design.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response processes to support production systems and quickly resolve operational issues.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations that improve system throughput and user responsiveness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define technical specifications and align implementation details with business objectives.
- Test and validate software changes in staging environments before deployment to ensure stability and correctness in production.
- Support the operation of live systems that handle millions of customer interactions daily with a focus on uptime and reliability.
Requirements
- You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- You must be able to return to work in September 2026 following the completion of your internship period.
- You possess a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- You have demonstrated proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, or Go, and are capable of writing production-grade code.
- You have experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services into software applications.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment where priorities can shift quickly based on business needs.
- You have a strong desire to learn and apply new technologies, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and distributed systems.
- You are able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex technical concepts in clear and concise terms.
- You must be authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship for the duration of the internship, as the role requires immediate onsite participation.
