What you'll do
Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs that serve as the foundation for customer engagement applications.
Build and optimize data storage solutions using Postgres, ClickHouse, and Elasticsearch to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate with cross functional teams, including frontend engineers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers, to deliver end to end solutions that meet business objectives.
Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in distributed systems and databases to maintain a high quality user experience.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices for backend development and software engineering standards.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration efforts to improve code quality and delivery velocity.
Ensure security, scalability, and reliability of backend services through careful design and iterative improvement.
Analyze and improve system architecture, focusing on performance bottlenecks, scaling strategies, and security considerations.
Contribute to the long term technical vision for the Customer Data Platform and insight visualization capabilities.
Help establish engineering practices and standards as we grow the team in Romania and support global operations.

Work with minimal supervision while communicating progress and risks clearly to stakeholders.
Implement solutions that balance speed of delivery with robustness and long term maintainability.
Act as a technical leader in shaping the direction of backend systems and infrastructure for the platform.
Requirements
Demonstrate proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong focus on database design, system architecture, and backend service implementation.
Show strong expertise in programming languages commonly used for backend development, with a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
Bring hands on experience with Postgres, ClickHouse, and Elasticsearch, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Have a deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architecture and their tradeoffs.
Exhibit strong problem solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in production like performance regressions or data inconsistencies.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams in a remote first environment.
Commit to writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to industry best practices and quality standards.
Display ownership and initiative in identifying issues, proposing improvements, and driving solutions to technical challenges.
