What you'll do
- Assist the Superintendent in managing daily operations on construction sites, ensuring that all activities align with project specifications and timelines.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate the timely delivery of materials and services, minimizing delays and ensuring project continuity.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and compliance with safety regulations, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
- Support the development and implementation of project schedules, tracking milestones and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with the project management team to prepare and review project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers, to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
- Assist in the management of project budgets, monitoring expenses and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions, promoting a culture of safety on-site and ensuring that all team members adhere to established protocols.
- Help resolve conflicts and challenges that may arise during the construction process, utilizing problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including labor hours, equipment usage, and materials consumed, to support project reporting and analysis.
- Mentor and guide junior staff members, fostering their professional development and ensuring a cohesive team environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes that may impact construction processes and project outcomes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites as needed.
Nice to have
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations specific to the Orlando area.
- Certification in safety management or OSHA training.
- Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
