What you'll do
- Lead the month-end close process by coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for operational improvement.
- Manage the general ledger by reviewing transactions and ensuring all entries align with established accounting policies.
- Support the development and implementation of financial controls to mitigate risk and enhance process reliability.
- Partner with department heads to refine budgeting and forecasting models based on actual performance and market conditions.
- Prepare detailed variance analyses that explain differences between planned and actual financial results.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulatory standards through rigorous review and documentation.
- Oversee the accuracy of fixed asset accounting, including depreciation calculations and reconciliation schedules.
- Facilitate external audit preparations by organizing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries efficiently.
- Contribute to the evaluation and optimization of accounting software and financial systems used within the organization.
- Assist in the development of financial models that support business planning, valuation, and strategic initiatives.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support leadership in making informed operational and investment decisions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.
- Communicate financial performance and insights to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting or a similar finance role.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Show advanced proficiency in using accounting software platforms and Microsoft Excel for complex financial tasks.
- Have a proven track record of managing financial records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and generate meaningful reports.
- Be capable of working independently while managing multiple deadlines in a dynamic corporate environment.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external partners.
