CoreWeave is actively building the infrastructure required to power the next generation of artificial intelligence, and the Energy & Climate Policy Engagement Lead will be central to ensuring this growth is both scalable and sustainable. In this leadership position, you will serve as the primary architect of CoreWeave's energy and climate policy strategy. Your core mission is to manage the intersection of high-performance computing and the energy systems that power it. As the company expands its global data center footprint, you will be the trusted voice articulating the industry's power needs to government bodies, regulators, and industry consortiums. You will translate the technical realities of AI infrastructure into actionable policy frameworks, ensuring that CoreWeave's ambitions are matched by a supportive and forward-thinking regulatory environment. This role demands a strategic thinker capable of navigating the complex web of energy regulations while advocating for the infrastructure necessary for technological advancement. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the relationships that shape policy, ensuring that CoreWeave remains at the forefront of an industry defined by rapid innovation and significant energy consumption.

What you'll do

• Conduct comprehensive energy policy analysis to identify risks and opportunities for CoreWeave's operational scale across all market jurisdictions.
• Formulate and present clear, data-driven policy positions to federal, state, and local government officials regarding data center energy procurement and grid access.
• Track and interpret evolving climate regulations, emissions standards, and energy reporting requirements to ensure CoreWeave's strict compliance and strategic advantage.
• Facilitate deep collaboration between internal engineering, operations, and legal teams and external utility partners to align infrastructure development with grid capabilities.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with industry coalitions and trade groups dedicated to sustainable AI infrastructure and modern grid architecture.
• Lead public forums, media engagements, and legislative testimony to articulate CoreWeave's stance on energy sustainability and the role of AI in economic growth.
• Assess the impact of pending legislative changes and grid policy shifts on the cost, availability, and reliability of power for high-performance computing environments.
• Develop strategic communications and advocacy materials that translate complex technical infrastructure requirements into clear, persuasive policy language.
• Coordinate closely with legal and regulatory affairs teams to ensure all policy engagement aligns with corporate governance, risk management, and compliance standards.
• Advise executive leadership on emerging policy trends and geopolitical factors that could affect CoreWeave's global infrastructure investment decisions.
• Monitor grid reliability metrics, resource adequacy rules, and energy market dynamics in key markets to inform optimal data center site selection.
• Represent CoreWeave in formal negotiations with regulators, public utilities, and governmental bodies concerning energy access, interconnection agreements, and market participation.
• Synthesize large volumes of complex energy data and market signals into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions on capacity and expansion.
• Champion internal and external initiatives that promote responsible energy use, efficiency, and decarbonization within the broader AI and technology sectors.
• Drive thought leadership by authoring papers, participating in policy working groups, and engaging in industry forums to establish CoreWeave as a trusted voice in energy and climate discourse.

Requirements

• Demonstrated, professional experience in energy policy, climate advocacy, government relations, or public policy within the technology, utility, or high-tech infrastructure sectors.
• Possess a deep, working understanding of the energy grid, wholesale and retail power markets, power generation mix, and the fundamentals of electrical transmission and distribution.
• Show a proven ability to translate highly complex technical infrastructure requirements, such as grid interconnection and power purchase agreements, into clear, accessible policy positions for diverse audiences.
• Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively interacting with senior government officials, regulators, and external stakeholders.
• Have a documented history of managing complex, multifaceted policy issues in fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous business environments.
• Display strong analytical capabilities to evaluate the implications of regulatory changes, legislative bills, and regulatory orders on business operations and financial outcomes.
• Bring extensive experience in proactive stakeholder management, capable of building trust and consensus among diverse partners with varying interests and objectives.
• Commit to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all public policy discourse and advocacy efforts.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with relevant AI infrastructure technologies and the associated energy implications is highly valued.
