About the role
You own the end-to-end guest experience for conference and event participants, ensuring every interaction reflects the Convene standard of anticipatory service. You greet all clients with enthusiasm and maintain a warm, friendly demeanor at all times while providing world-class service aligned with brand standards. In this role, you partner closely with Culinary, Production, and Technology teams to exceed client expectations and uphold the company's Core Values of Genuine, Relentless, Integrity, and Teamwork. You are responsible for setting up and breaking down food and beverage stations, as well as conference rooms and refresh rooms, as required. You will accurately answer client questions about culinary offerings and spaces, handle special needs and last-minute requests with flexibility, and develop strong relationships with clients. Your daily duties include performing facility maintenance, maintaining safe and organized work areas, and ensuring constant sanitation, proper food handling, and stock control. You also perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties and support cloakroom tasks when necessary.

Set up, replenish, maintain, and breakdown food and beverage stations for every event.
Accommodate special client needs and last-minute requests with flexibility and care.
Develop relationships with clients through attentive and personalized interactions.
Accurately answer client questions about culinary options and our spaces in a clear, friendly manner.
Read, understand, and execute Program Execution Orders with precision and attention to detail.
Follow checklists and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent operations.
Set up and breakdown conference rooms and refresh rooms as required by the event schedule.
Perform facility maintenance tasks to support a clean and functional environment.
Maintain safe, clean, organised, and well-stocked work areas at all times.
Responsible for constant sanitation, organisation, and proper food handling practices.
Have full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information to assist clients confidently.
Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties in strict accordance with company standards.
Perform cleaning duties including wiping down tables and chairs, cleaning glasses, washing dishes, polishing glass and silverware, and making rollups.
Maintain a professional appearance in dress, speech, and conduct during every shift.
Maintain professional working relationships with team members across all departments.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the broader needs of the business.
Support and manage cloakroom tasks when required to ensure smooth event operations.
Requirements
You must currently reside in the UK and be able to work in the UK without sponsorship.
You must possess basic knowledge of food and beverage operations.
You must demonstrate proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You must show proven good organisational skills in fast-paced environments.
You must be highly motivated and ready to lead other team members when necessary.
You must be proficient in multitasking across multiple responsibilities.
You must be flexible and able to work long hours, including occasional extended shifts.
You must have the ability to move, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
You must be able to reach overhead and below the knees during routine tasks.
You must be able to stand, sit, and walk for an extended period of time as required by event schedules.
Nice to have
A food Hygiene or Food Handling Certificate is preferred for this role.
Practical notes
This role offers flexible gigs where you can choose shifts that work for you, including weekdays, evenings, or just a few days a week. You are in control of your schedule while earning a competitive hourly wage with opportunities for growth, as over 50% of supervisors started in entry-level positions and promote from within. The schedule primarily follows Monday-Friday shifts, with the benefit of mostly having weekends free and typically enjoying Christmas off to spend with loved ones.
