About the role
This position is responsible for leading the sales strategy across multiple high-profile lifestyle venues in New York City, including NeueHouse Madison Square and upcoming locations such as The Mallory and Aperture. The role involves driving revenue growth through event sales and membership initiatives, with a focus on establishing and expanding the market presence of these distinctive hospitality and cultural spaces. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the venues meet their financial targets while maintaining exceptional client experiences. This leadership role requires a strategic mindset combined with hands-on management to develop and execute sales plans, foster relationships, and support the overall growth of the venues' commercial operations.

What you'll do
- Achieve and surpass multi-million dollar revenue goals by developing comprehensive sales, marketing, and pricing strategies tailored to each venue's market conditions and target audiences.
- Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Centralized Sales, and Brand Marketing teams to align regional campaigns, promotional efforts, and branding initiatives that enhance client engagement and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Provide ongoing feedback on product offerings, event services, and client experience improvements based on direct input from clients and members to ensure continuous enhancement of the venues' offerings.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-6 sales professionals, fostering a high-performance culture, providing coaching, and supporting career growth within the team.
- Expand revenue streams by establishing and nurturing relationships with local and regional partners, including hotels, large event venues, broker agencies, and event production companies, to generate new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key market stakeholders such as corporate clients, event planners, agencies, and community organizations to increase venue utilization and brand visibility.
- Conduct competitive analysis to understand market positioning and communicate the unique value propositions of NeueHouse venues effectively to prospective clients.
- Partner with operational leadership to ensure client experiences are seamless and aligned with revenue goals, including supporting event execution and client onboarding processes.
- Regularly evaluate current sales processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness in reaching sales targets.
- Support the Marketing Manager in executing local outreach campaigns, content creation, community engagement initiatives, and partnership development to boost venue visibility and client acquisition.
- Collaborate with the SVP Brand Marketing to leverage centralized resources for digital marketing, public relations, graphic design, and cultural marketing efforts to amplify brand presence.
- Work with the Director of Membership to develop programs and initiatives that foster community engagement, increase membership retention, and attract new members.
- Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts to inform operational planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Monitor sales pipeline health, analyze performance metrics, and adjust strategies accordingly to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of sales experience, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets in the hospitality, event, or related sectors.
- At least 5 years of experience leading high-performing sales teams, preferably within high-volume hospitality or event environments.
- Strong understanding of revenue analytics, sales metrics, and data-driven decision-making processes.
- Demonstrated success in managing teams through close collaboration with sales, marketing, and revenue leadership to meet business goals.
- An established network within the New York City meetings, events, and hospitality industry, with existing relationships that can be leveraged for business development.
- Experience cultivating relationships with corporate clients, agencies, event planners, and other key stakeholders.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales reporting tools to track performance and forecast future sales.
- Ability to interpret data, analyze pipeline health, and use forecasting tools to inform strategic decisions.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution and daily management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present to clients and internal teams.
