About the role
Bamboohr is looking for a Graduate Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their team based in Sydney, New South Wales. This full-time role is ideal for recent graduates who want to develop practical skills in infrastructure support and technical operations. The position focuses on helping maintain and troubleshoot internal systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the organization. The engineer will work alongside experienced team members to resolve technical issues and support the reliability of the company's infrastructure.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Provide first-line technical support for internal infrastructure systems and end-user hardware and software issues
- Monitor and maintain server environments to ensure consistent performance and high availability uptime
- Assist with the deployment and configuration of hardware and software across the organization
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and escalate complex unresolved issues to senior engineers
- Document infrastructure procedures and create clear written guides for team reference and training
- Support the onboarding of new equipment and ensure proper setup and comprehensive testing
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve recurring system problems efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, patches, and system health checks
- Help manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security policies for internal platforms
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand technical needs and provide timely and accurate solutions
- Participate in team meetings to discuss infrastructure projects, upcoming changes, and ongoing support priorities
- Help maintain documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and disaster recovery procedures
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to manage hardware procurement and delivery schedules
- Assist in the planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades and system migrations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field is required
- Recent graduate or final-year student seeking a full-time position in infrastructure support and operations
- Basic understanding of operating systems, networking fundamentals, and system administration concepts and practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and internal customer support
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving infrastructure needs on an ongoing basis
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving problems
- Availability to work full-time hours in the Sydney, New South Wales office location
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software tools and apply them to support tasks quickly

Nice to have
- Prior internship or co-op experience in IT support or infrastructure roles is beneficial
