About the role
Coinbase is seeking a manager to oversee our global performance marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for managing significant advertising budgets to grow our user base while maintaining strict efficiency and ROI standards. In this capacity, you will own the end to end performance marketing strategy for our global markets, ensuring that all efforts directly support user acquisition and retention objectives. You will act as the central point of ownership for performance channels, driving accountability for results across the full funnel. The role requires you to translate high level business goals into specific, testable experiments that can be scaled efficiently. You will be expected to leverage cutting edge automation and AI capabilities to remove manual work and accelerate learning cycles. Success in this position will be defined by your ability to balance aggressive growth targets with disciplined cost management. You will be a strategic operator who thrives on building repeatable systems that compound in effectiveness over time.

What you'll do
- Orchestrate global paid performance initiatives across Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, and mobile user acquisition platforms to achieve defined growth and efficiency KPIs.
- Design and run a structured testing program that explores creative variations, audience segmentation, bidding strategies, and landing page elements to build scalable optimization playbooks.
- Partner with Data Science and Analytics teams to construct incrementality tests and robust measurement frameworks that clarify the true business impact of channel activities.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with key advertising platforms to secure early access to beta features and align on joint growth strategies.
- Architect and maintain comprehensive performance reporting dashboards that deliver clear visibility into channel, product, and regional metrics for executive stakeholders.
- Lead cross functional collaboration with Product Marketing, Legal, Engineering, Creative, and regional teams to ensure strategic alignment on messaging and offers.
- Implement rigorous governance over budget allocation and pacing to maximize return on ad spend without compromising growth velocity.
- Utilize generative AI tools thoughtfully to assist in tasks such as copy drafting, insight generation, and scenario modeling while preserving human oversight and brand integrity.
- Establish standardized operational workflows and documentation that enable seamless handoffs and continuity across the performance marketing lifecycle.
- Champion a culture of curiosity and evidence based decision making by consistently challenging assumptions with data.
Requirements
- Bring 5 or more years of professional performance marketing experience, gained either in house or at an agency, with a strong focus on paid search, paid social, or mobile acquisition.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of managing large scale media budgets while consistently improving acquisition efficiency and unit economics.
- Show advanced proficiency in using LLMs, no code, and low code automation platforms such as Zapier, n8n, Make, or Retool to streamline processes and scale experimentation.
- Exhibit mastery of business intelligence tools like Looker, Hex, or Tableau to enable data driven decision making and clear storytelling.
- Have deep experience with full funnel measurement for web and app, including SKAN frameworks, adherence to iOS privacy standards, and robust incrementality testing methodologies.
- Possess a B2C marketing background, with a distinct preference for candidates who have previously worked in fintech or cryptocurrency environments.
- Display the ability to responsibly leverage generative AI for business tasks while maintaining critical human judgment and oversight.
- Thrive in a fast moving, regulated industry where compliance considerations intersect with aggressive growth mandates.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders, translating complex performance data into actionable recommendations.
- Embrace continuous learning to keep pace with rapid changes in advertising platforms, privacy regulations, and consumer behavior.
Practical notes
- Annual base salary range: $140,080 - $200,900 USD.
- Total compensation includes equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
- Coinbase operates on a remote first model with mandatory quarterly in person working sessions known as surges.
