About the role
You will own the end-to-end execution of treasury and banking operations in support of Coinbase global fiat infrastructure. This role requires you to move money safely, accurately, and on time across all Coinbase legal entities. You will be responsible for daily customer payment processing, balance monitoring, and liquidity forecasting that keeps the fiat rails running for millions of customers around the world. You will act as the primary operations contact for banking partners, triaging issues on the fiat rails and coordinating swift resolutions. In this position, you will partner directly with Product and Engineering teams to test and launch new payment capabilities at the intersection of traditional finance and crypto. The role demands comfort with intense, high-volume environments where you must balance competing priorities while maintaining strict compliance. What you'll do
Own day-to-day treasury and banking operations including bank account funding, balance monitoring across all Coinbase legal entities, and liquidity forecasting.
Execute daily customer payment processing across multiple fiat rails, ensuring timely and compliant settlement for millions of users.
Investigate and resolve escalated payment issues by conducting deep root-cause research and coordinating with banking partners and internal stakeholders.
Partner with Product and Engineering teams to test, validate, and launch new payment rail integrations that expand our fiat capabilities.
Collaborate with internal compliance, legal, and finance teams to fulfill regulatory requests and banking documentation requirements.
Serve as a primary operations contact for banking partners, triaging issues related to fiat rail integrations and customer payments around the clock.
Utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Balance competing priorities in a high-volume payment operations environment while consistently delivering accurate, detail-oriented work.
Maintain strict adherence to internal controls and procedures to safeguard company funds and ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
Support ad hoc projects and process improvements that strengthen treasury operations, banking relationships, and cross-functional collaboration.
Contribute to documentation and playbooks that enable scalability and knowledge sharing across the Treasury & Banking Operations team.
Represent Coinbase in external banking interactions, ensuring clear communication and alignment on payment flows and settlement timelines.
Monitor key operational metrics and escalate anomalies or risks to ensure proactive issue management and continuous process enhancement.
Requirements
2-4 years of experience in payment operations, treasury operations, or banking with hands-on exposure to money movement across multiple payment rails.
Demonstrated proficiency with ACH and multi-rail payment processing; AAP or NACHA certification strongly preferred.
1-2 years of experience managing relationships with third-party vendors, banking institutions, or internal cross-functional partners.
Proven ability to balance competing priorities and deliver accurate, detail-oriented work in a high-volume payment operations environment.
Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with banking partners, compliance, legal, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in an intense, fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
Willingness to get together quarterly for in-person working sessions called "surges" as part of Coinbase remote-first culture.
