What you'll do
- Lead efforts in managing risks associated with ACH transactions, developing advanced fraud prevention strategies that align with the company's growth objectives.
- Detect and mitigate fraudulent deposit activities by implementing targeted approaches against high-risk behaviors and malicious entities.
- Perform thorough analyses of fraud metrics to assess the effectiveness of existing risk controls, providing actionable insights to management based on data findings.
- Work collaboratively with various teams, including Product, Growth, Data Science, Risk ML, and Engineering, to enhance risk management methodologies, shifting from conventional rules to data-driven models.
- Investigate atypical customer behaviors and transaction patterns, proactively identifying and rectifying monitoring gaps to avert potential financial losses.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of risk management processes and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging threats in fraud to continuously adapt and improve risk management practices.
- Train and mentor junior team members on best practices in risk analysis and fraud prevention techniques.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the fields of risk management, fraud prevention, or payments operations, with at least 2 years specifically focused on fraud prevention within fintech, e-commerce, or financial services sectors.
- Proficiency in SQL, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in querying and analyzing large datasets, capable of managing analytics projects independently from inception to completion.
- Familiarity with identity verification data and fraud detection technologies to develop and enhance risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong ability to quantify the financial impact of fraud-related decisions and effectively relay findings to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of ACH payment processing and the associated NACHA regulations.
- Experience in the responsible use of generative AI, ensuring appropriate human oversight to improve workflow efficiency and output quality.

- Knowledge of machine learning applications relevant to risk management.
- Experience in the design and implementation of automated systems for fraud detection.
- Previous involvement in cross-functional projects that enhance risk management practices.

Practical notes
- The base salary for this position ranges from $135,320 to $159,200 USD, contingent on location. Total compensation may also include equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package, which encompasses medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.
