What you'll do

• Serve as the main liaison for law enforcement inquiries, specifically acting as the Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) for requests that originate from Brazil.
• Evaluate, process, and respond to legal information requests and subpoenas, carefully assessing any associated risks.
• Conduct blockchain analysis to trace illicit fund movements and identify patterns of criminal activity.
• Under the guidance of senior team members, investigate cases of fraud, money laundering, ransomware, darknet markets, and account takeovers.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in financial crime and relevant legal frameworks within the cryptocurrency industry.
• generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and improve the quality of outputs, while ensuring that human oversight is maintained throughout the process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for mitigating risks associated with financial crimes.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, summarizing findings and recommendations based on investigations.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of global intelligence.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on best practices for compliance and investigative techniques.
• Assist in the development of training materials and resources for new team members to ensure a high level of competency within the unit.

Requirements

• A minimum of one year of experience in roles involving law enforcement collaboration or investigative work within a banking, fintech, or cryptocurrency environment.
• Proven ability to build cases from limited data and effectively document findings for both internal and legal stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in blockchain analysis, along with a solid understanding of various financial crime typologies.
• Fluency in Portuguese is essential to facilitate communication with law enforcement agencies in Brazil and other Latin American countries.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports while exercising sound judgment regarding legal requests.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, enabling you to identify trends and anomalies in financial data.

Nice to have

• Experience with blockchain investigative tools such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or Elliptic.
• Familiarity with generative AI applications in professional settings.
• Previous experience working in a remote team environment, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.

Practical notes

• The base salary for this position ranges from $117,385 to $138,100 USD per year, not including equity and bonuses.

• Expect to participate in quarterly in-person working sessions, referred to as surges, to foster team collaboration and engagement.
