About the role
You will own the design and execution of the regional Sales Engineering strategy to ensure high-quality technical sales execution. You will develop and mentor a team of Sales Engineers, driving best-in-class performance across your region. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to your Regional Sales Director, providing strategic input on forecasting, pipeline health, and deal execution. You will serve as the primary conduit for customer feedback, translating voice of the customer insights to Product, Marketing, and Education teams. You will partner cross-functionally to enable continuous improvement in messaging, sales methodology, and enablement materials. You will recruit, coach, and retain top-tier Sales Engineering talent to build a resilient and high-performing regional team. This role requires deep collaboration across internal stakeholders to align solutions with customer needs and business objectives.

What you'll do
Develop and execute a comprehensive Sales Engineering strategy aligned with regional sales targets and customer demands.
Partner with your Regional Sales Director on forecast accuracy, unblock opportunities, facilitate deal reviews, conduct PoC reviews, and report on the team's overall performance.
Collaborate with counterparts in Product, Marketing, and Education to ensure bi-directional communication around product improvements, new feature releases, customer issues, correct messaging, sales strategy, process improvements, and subject matter expertise.
Provide continuous feedback and enablement for your team of Sales Engineers to elevate technical competency and customer engagement.
Assist with recruiting new Sales Engineers and ensuring the continued growth and retention of the existing team.
Immerse yourself in the CockroachDB value proposition and sales methodology during the initial phase to build a strong foundation for influencing technical decisions.
Act as an active listener on customer calls to build relationships with various teams at Cockroach Labs and deeply understand customer challenges.
Review customer conversations and provide technical guidance to shape solutioning and address complex deal obstacles.
Support the development of sales tools, playbooks, and enablement content to streamline the technical sales process.
Represent the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders to drive product enhancements and customer success initiatives.
Perform operational reporting and analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in the sales process.
Engage in strategic forecasting and pipeline reviews to ensure alignment between sales execution and business goals.
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and syncs to ensure alignment between Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success.
Champion the adoption of sales best practices and methodologies across the Sales Engineering team to ensure consistency and quality.
Requirements
12-15+ years of technical sales experience with 5+ years of managing technical sales teams.
A strong ability to prioritize sales activities and manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in building, leading, and mentoring high-performing technical sales teams.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
Experience working with CRM tools and sales analytics platforms to track performance and drive insights.
Deep understanding of the software sales motion and technical sales methodologies.
Must be based in Singapore to be eligible for this remote role.

Background in SaaS or enterprise software sales environments.
Prior experience in enablement, coaching, or mentorship roles within a sales organization.
