About the role
You will own the end-to-end strategy and operations for a critical line of business at Clutch, translating complex market dynamics into clear, actionable playbooks. This role focuses on turning pricing and operational data into concrete decisions that drive funnel conversion, margin expansion, and inventory efficiency across retail, wholesale, and export channels. You will build and own the reporting cadence and strategic projects that keep the entire executive team aligned on execution. You will act as the strategic bridge between analytics and on-the-ground execution, ensuring insights turn into measurable results. In this position, you will sharpen the conversion engine, inform smarter day-0 pricing and aging rules, and steer inventory and disposition choices for maximum value. You will own the frameworks that turn market data into playbooks that directly impact the bottom line. Your work will ensure that the 12× inventory turn and margin-expansion targets remain on track through rigorous analysis and cross-functional leadership.

What you'll do
- Funnel Conversion Optimization: Build weekly and monthly dashboards and forecasts, actively tuning conversion for both offer volume and vehicle spread.
- Spread & Margin Waterfall Feedback Loop: Track expected, realized, and remaining spread, reconditioning costs, and front-end margin, feeding those insights back into pricing models for continuous improvement.
- Retail Pricing & Aging Framework: Develop day-0 pricing and aging rules that balance days-to-sell, forecasted spread, recon estimates, and bid-ask adjustments to maintain a 12× inventory turn while maximizing margin.
- Inventory Mix Model: Determine the optimal inventory mix and dollar weightings using market data, factoring in expected turn and Clutch GPU (gross profit per unit) performance.
- Disposition Decision Logic: Define data-driven routing rules for Wholesale, Retail, and Export to maximize vehicle value.
- Operating Rhythm & Strategic Projects: Run business reviews, OKR tracking, and cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.
- Reporting Cadence Ownership: Establish and maintain the reporting cadence that aligns executives, tracks KPIs, and ensures insights translate into action.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with Pricing, Procurement, Reconditioning, and Logistics to operationalize strategies and resolve bottlenecks.
- Scenario Planning and Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct what-if analyses to evaluate the impact of market shifts, pricing changes, and inventory adjustments on performance.
- Data Storytelling: Translate complex datasets into clear narratives that guide decision-making for stakeholders across the organization.
- Market Intelligence Synthesis: Monitor competitor pricing, market conditions, and regulatory changes to adjust strategies in a timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify levers to enhance funnel performance, reduce aging inventory, and improve overall profitability.
Requirements
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in strategy/management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or 5+ years at a high-growth technology company in a BizOps, or pricing operations role.
- Willing to commute to our headquarter in downtown Toronto (60 Adelaide Street East); remote candidates will not be considered.
- Analytical mindset ("good with the numbers") + execution-driven attitude (not afraid to "roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty").
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
- Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced, and operationally intensive environment.
- Experience or interest in auto and/or consumer financing is a bonus - but you can expect to learn on the job.
- Strong proficiency in data tools, spreadsheets, and visualization platforms to manage and communicate insights.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with frequent ambiguity and rapid iteration.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated track record of owning end-to-end projects and driving them to completion.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in the automotive retail or wholesale industry.
- Background in consumer financing or credit risk.
- Familiarity with automotive valuation tools and market data sources.
- Experience building and maintaining executive dashboards.
- Knowledge of disposition channels and logistics networks.
Practical notes
- Location is fixed in downtown Toronto at 60 Adelaide Street East; remote work is not permitted.
- The engagement is full-time, requiring consistent availability during standard business hours.
