What you'll do
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of procurement initiatives across the organization from the Toronto, Ontario office
- Manage a team of procurement professionals and provide mentorship, coaching, and performance development guidance
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable delivery of goods and services
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and favorable commercial conditions
- Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency gains
- Oversee the creation and enforcement of procurement policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and engineering departments to understand purchasing needs and align procurement timelines
- Evaluate and select new vendors through rigorous assessment of capabilities, reliability, and total cost of ownership
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and manage corrective action plans when service levels fall below expectations
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, budget adherence, and savings achievements for executive stakeholders
- Drive the adoption of procurement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies across the department and organization
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal governance frameworks, and the company's established code of conduct
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related professional field
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a procurement team in a corporate environment
- Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, vendor management principles, and procurement lifecycle best practices
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance, economics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and process efficiencies
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines

- Familiarity with procurement software platforms and enterprise resource planning systems is advantageous
