CLEAR
Corporate is seeking an IT Support Specialist I to provide frontline technical support to employees across the New York office. The role centers on addressing everyday information technology challenges that staff members encounter during their regular workday. This position serves as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting hardware malfunctions, software errors, and network connectivity issues throughout the organization. The specialist will work closely with team leads and internal departments to help ensure that all employees have reliable and timely access to the computing tools they need to do their jobs effectively.

What you'll do
- Respond to employee requests for technical assistance through phone, email, or in-person visits at the office
- Diagnose and resolve issues affecting desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and peripheral devices connected to the network
- Install, configure, and update software applications on employee workstations as needed to maintain productivity
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and assist with VPN or wireless access setup for remote workers
- Maintain accurate records of support tickets, actions taken, and resolution outcomes in the company tracking system
- Help set up new employee workstations with required hardware, software, and security settings before their start date
- Escalate unresolved or complex technical issues to higher-level support teams or external vendors when necessary
- Assist with the deployment of operating system updates and antivirus protection across all managed devices regularly
- Monitor and manage IT inventory including cables, adapters, keyboards, mice, and replacement components for the office
- Provide basic guidance to staff on proper use of company technology and recommended security practices daily
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on workstations to keep equipment functioning at expected performance levels consistently
- Coordinate with facilities or procurement teams when hardware replacements or new equipment orders are required urgently
- Document standard operating procedures for common support scenarios to build a reusable knowledge base over time
- Collaborate with the security team to enforce compliance with company data protection and acceptable use policies
Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification; an associate or bachelor degree in a related field is preferred for this position
- Have at least one year of hands-on experience providing technical support in a corporate or office environment with diverse users
- Demonstrate familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems and common productivity software such as Microsoft Office suites
- Show comfort working with mobile devices, printers, scanners, and other standard office hardware peripherals on a daily basis
- Understand basic networking concepts including IP addressing, DHCP, DNS resolution, and local area network troubleshooting procedures
- Communicate clearly and patiently with colleagues who may have limited technical knowledge or experience when explaining solutions
- Organize support tasks effectively and manage multiple open cases simultaneously without losing track of important details or deadlines
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times and adhere to company policies regarding data handling, privacy, and confidentiality
Nice to have
- Hold a CompTIA A+ certification or an equivalent industry-recognized IT support credential that validates core technical competencies
- Have hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, or similar directory services management tools in a Windows environment
- Possess working knowledge of remote desktop tools and cloud-based collaboration platforms commonly used in modern office settings
- Show genuine interest in learning about virtualization technologies, mobile device management, or other emerging areas within information technology
Skills & tools
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems including basic command-line administration and system configuration tasks
- Microsoft Office 365 suite including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive for business collaboration and file sharing
- Common peripheral setup and driver management for printers, scanners, monitors, and docking stations used in offices
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP protocols, DHCP, DNS, and local area network troubleshooting procedures for daily support
- IT service management platforms or ticketing systems for tracking, prioritizing, and documenting support requests and resolutions
- Remote assistance software and screen-sharing tools used for off-site troubleshooting sessions and remote employee support
