What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines that efficiently process and transform large datasets, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data solutions.
- Optimize existing data workflows and systems to improve efficiency and reduce processing time, ensuring timely access to critical business information.
- Build and maintain data models that support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across platforms.
- Develop and implement data governance policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive information.
- Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Work closely with product managers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions that drive product development.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and enhance the overall software development lifecycle.
- Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering or data engineering roles, with a strong focus on data architecture and pipeline development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with a deep understanding of data manipulation and processing libraries.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in relation to data storage and processing services.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with ETL tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
