What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement data pipelines that efficiently process and transform large datasets, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data solutions.
• Optimize existing data workflows and systems to improve efficiency and reduce processing time, ensuring timely access to critical business information.
• Build and maintain data models that support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across platforms.
• Develop and implement data governance policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive information.
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Work closely with product managers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions that drive product development.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system functionality.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our data architecture and engineering practices.
• Document technical processes and data flows to ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and enhance the overall software development lifecycle.
• Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with project goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering or data engineering roles, with a strong focus on data architecture and pipeline development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with a deep understanding of data manipulation and processing libraries.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in relation to data storage and processing services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with ETL tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in the real estate or property management industry, with an understanding of the specific data challenges faced in this domain.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and experience implementing predictive models or analytics solutions.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to present data insights effectively.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes for deploying data applications.
