About the role
Join Checkly to help developers and agents ensure application performance and reliability throughout the entire software lifecycle. You will be instrumental in demonstrating how our platform solves real-world reliability challenges for engineering teams. You will partner with developers and SREs to validate that Checkly meets their specific observability and synthetic monitoring needs. You will act as a technical advocate, translating complex reliability concepts into clear, actionable insights for your audience. This role requires you to be the voice of the customer internally and the voice of the product externally. You will own the technical narrative from initial discovery through to solution validation. Your work will directly influence product direction and go-to-market messaging.

What you'll do
Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions to understand the reliability pain points and architecture of prospective accounts.
Perform live technical evaluations of the Checkly platform, tailoring demos to address specific customer workflows and monitoring gaps.
Collaborate with senior technical sales engineers to build complex proof-of-concept scenarios that validate solution fit.
Analyze customer application architectures to determine how Checkly can integrate into existing CI/CD and monitoring toolchains.
Draft detailed technical responses that clarify platform capabilities, limitations, and implementation strategies for prospects.
Create and maintain reusable technical artifacts, including demo scripts, evaluation checklists, and configuration guides based on field experience.
Translate customer feedback regarding reliability issues and feature requests directly to Product Management and Engineering leadership.
Utilize AI-powered coding assistants to rapidly generate demo scripts, debug synthetic monitor configurations, and simulate edge cases during customer discussions.
Develop and maintain a library of code examples in JavaScript and Node.js that showcase common reliability patterns and testing methodologies.
Mentor junior team members on best practices for technical storytelling and live platform navigation.
Qualify leads by assessing technical fit, identifying stakeholder requirements, and aligning Checkly capabilities with customer success criteria.
Document common implementation challenges and workarounds to accelerate the onboarding process for new customers.
Represent Checkly at virtual and physical industry events, ensuring the technical messaging remains accurate and compelling.
Act as a trusted advisor by providing objective guidance on reliability strategy, even when Checkly is not the immediate solution.
Requirements
Possess prior professional experience in a customer-facing technical capacity, such as software engineering with customer interaction, technical consulting, professional services, or developer relations.
Demonstrate strong technical proficiency, including the ability to read, write, and debug code, with a preference for Javascript/Node.js.
Be adept at utilizing AI tools to enhance customer-facing activities, including researching prospect environments, generating custom demo code, building proof-of-concept repositories, and drafting technical responses.
Exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for direct customer interaction, including running demonstrations and clearly explaining technical concepts.
Possess excellent command of spoken and written English.
Be self-directed and motivated to work effectively in an asynchronous environment, while also valuing team collaboration.
Reside within the Eastern Time zone (+/- 1 hour).
Have a background in DevTools, observability, or infrastructure monitoring to quickly grasp the nuances of the platform.
Nice to have
Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
